East Wilkes dominated this game and honestly did not play as well as they could have. I heard some complaining that East was still throwing the ball while up 42 - 7 in the second half. This comes from a team that had us down one year 50ish to 0 near the end of the first half of a game and they went for a two point conversion. Yes, that did happen in the late 90's, I believe Justin Call was a senior that year.

I am not sure what is going on at Elkin, but they have decent #'s. They have never had big #'s. They have decent size, but it looks like they have not been in the weight room. That is something Grissom would not have tolerated. I know nothing from the inside, just an observation from the outside.

This East Wilkes team will show what they are or what they are not soon. We will know more starting next week at Ashe. We still have the Eagles and Blackhawks to finish the year. Here's hoping for the best.

I knew Elkin would have it rough this year when I seen them at the 7 on 7 at West Stokes. They were unusually small for an Elkin team and that was without the pads on. Their line when we played them was decent sized with pads on for being stocky but their skill guys were tiny. When I played they had several lineman that were over 6 foot tall and when Strickland was there they had some size too. But this team is unusually small for Elkin. But on the bright side they play hard to make up for what they don't have. That #9's a athlete.

How would you rate Elkin vs. Alleghany so far since you've seen both? Does Elkin have a chance with them in a couple of weeks? It's crazy to think at one point Alleghany was a solid favorite but once conference hit they have struggled since. It could be a thriller. Elkin's never went 0-11 before on varsity so they got a lot to lose.

As for you guys and Ashe it's going to be an interesting game. You guys are hot right now after that stand against those last few teams and I think you guys can handle a test right now. Ashe is starting to get banged up. They lost the Ellis kid for the year at WR last week to a leg fracture and another WR broke his collar-bone last night vs. West as he was having a good night. Their QB has a lot of pressure on him right now to carry the team and their D has got to get better. It's going to be interesting to see how Ashe handles it the rest of the year.

The last two games for East will be barn burners. West's playing hard and Central's ran over everyone except West easily.

After watching alleghany's pathetic performance last night anyone can beat them. They played with no heart last night. #84 has either quit or been kicked off the team for some reason and he was very good and started at wr and db. Still wish i could find out why he isnt on the team anymore. He was a big reason we won 1st 3 games. Starting middle linebacker sat 1st qtr for skippin a day of school. And we only had 22 players dressed last night. 1st 4 games of the season we played lights out played with alot of effort and heart, and i guess we got 2 a** whippins bye ashe and east wilkes, which was expected and have decided to throw the towel in on the rest of the season. They went through the motions last night and didnt even try to win. #21 dropped like 3 passes which were thrown so high in the air it looked like a punt, not to mention he never moves up and fields a punt for some reason. Linemen looked like overweight out of shape and got manhandled, not to mention our coach went for it on 4th and 2 from our own 25 in the 1st qtr and we didnt make it. I hope we rebound because we could make it a few rounds if we can beat elkin and get the right matchups come playoffs bc the midwest bracket is going to be the weakest bracket ever seen. We made that grimes kidd look like bary sanders last night. I meen when u know one player is getting the ball every play and nobody can stop him, u r gettin your butts whipped. Pathetic performance looked like alleghany before sessoms became coach. I hope they just stay healthy the next 2 weeks and coach lights a fire under there a** for elkin game. But that was down right sorry.

I was out of town when East beat Alleghany. Last night's score against North Wilkes was a surprise. After watching Elkin, I think I would still take the Trojans.

Not to mentionn the pathetic fans, alleghany stands was packed last night like always, and nobody cheered or yelled or booed or anything. They were as lifeless as the team. As a former passionate player and a passionate fan i dont see how anyone could appear to not give. 2 sh**s that they or their highschool team is getting there butts kicked. It was so quiet i was on the 40 yardline and could hear someone taking a piss in the mens bathroom.

On a side note. I was looking at the stats of the WC vs Starmount game. I noticed the Boles kid had no carries or receptions for the game. Is he strictly playing defense? Was he out for injury? He's too good not to have touched the ball at all. Obviously, you won big without him contributing on offense, though.

Parsons doing so well plays a lot into Boles not getting much time. It'd be crazy to change it up. He'll have to wait a year before he can carry the load by himself. As for Boles I didn't see no film from the Starmount game on him so who knows.

It's amazing to think what accomplishments he would have had if he'd stayed at North Wilkes last year. For one he wouldn't have missed all of '15 and the start of this year; he could have had a crapload of yards by now. Secondly he could have been the star of the team instead of mixed in with a bunch of equals at Central. Boles could have even been used as an athlete instead of just the RB that's how talented he is. It's also possible Grimes wouldn't even be used as much. From what I remember that year they played JV together when we played them Grimes wasn't given the ball much; he was the FB I believe until he got hurt that game and had to be taken off. Crazy to think 2 years later Grimes is such a star workhorse and Boles is just a featured player. But given Boles's nature it's not a surprise either.

Hope the kid has a good rest of his career he's a really talented RB.
