Great night in Aishburr last night! Great night, I tells ya! (Great crowd too).

Little ole ER beat the boat loafers off the Blue Comets. Cats had no problem doing damage on the ground or through the air.

A few plays set the tone early......first was the blocked punt (that led to the first TD). Second was that first stop in the red zone. Third was the magnificent TD run after the catch from DJ Thomas.

Barwick, Lilly, Alston, Letterlough, Thomas, Glover, Brooks all had great games. So did John Maness. Maness had some outstanding hits on special teams and at linebacker.

Despite the score, I don't think Asheboro is a bad team. The QB, Khyland Hadley-Lindsay, is a problem when he gets in open space. He is fun to watch when he scrambles. #54 Tyson also had a good game. He gave ER's O-line fits. The Comets also have a couple of fairly good RB's.

Two things really did the Comets in last night. The first was the play of their secondary. The second was the fact that their receivers couldn't catch a beachball. They certainly weren't doing KHL any favors.

I really don't like that the Asheboro band sits on the visitors side. There were a couple of band members that were lucky that they didn't get their butts kicked. Fortunately, ER kept them silent most of the night.

Man those kids were annoying they were so mouthy, even with a running clock. I mean going back and forth taunting ER fans. Put them on their side.

They are teens. But really the director and school should do something about it. Some fan base might have enough some time and that’s not ever a good thing.

In all seriousness, yes they are teens, however you are a product of your raising. Asheboro band has always sat on visitors side. Don’t know why unless possibly allows for more paying customers on home side.
The problem is not where they are seated it’s the attitude shown by those teens that everyone remembers. If seated across the way confrontation could be postponed for awhile but attitudes have been known to be remembered after games as well.
Winners, true winners, are humble in victory and also in defeat. No one is taught that lesson anymore. Go watch a “travel” any sport and you will see a lot of trophies thrown away because they weren’t champions. Bad attitudes start with us grownups and we have to own that. However if it trickles down to our teens they have to own it as well.
Now, after getting down from my old man soapbox, I have to go take a nap. It will be supper time soon..,😂

Been a long time since I’ve been to Asheboro’s stadium. Probably 2009. But I don’t remember the band being on the Thomasville side. I do remember it one year at Davie County. And the press box being on the visitor’s side with the speakers blaring. Worst homer announcer I’ve ever seen and obviously trying to pick a fight with the visitors. That was classless too. Treat your opponent with respect. It almost always comes back to haunt you if you don’t.
I may be old school, but part of the beauty of the high school game is sportsmanship.

I do remember one year going to East Davidson and the Thomasville band came rolling in at the end of the first quarter. Standing room only in a tiny visitors’ section. The band director tried to make all the Thomasville fans in a third of the bleachers move. That means they’d have to stand. I’d been there for two hours already.
Had a great seat right beside the tuba player. We had a wonderful time😀

Pulling for er to win it all this season. Always liked the program from when you guys were 3a.

Yep you may be right But Mt Airy is looking good and that might be a road block this team is loaded with speed with good Defense we beat Draughn 56 to 6 tonight don't get to cocky just because you are in Randolph Co we may deliver it to you in the playoffs come

Doesn’t sound like ER are the ones that are cocky. Impressive win and enjoy it. But don’t anoint yourself yet. Lot of good teams in the west that will challenge for a chance at a state title.

Well honestly the poster who said ER going to make things interesting may or may not reside in beautiful Randolph Co. I think he/she was simply stating an opinion from an outside observer looking in. Mt Airy has a long and storied history in the 1A ranks. ER has never been here before so hopefully season will be played and we can all find out.
ER has had a good start against two 3A opponents but there's a long way to go yet.
Good luck to your team and hopefully the ER cockiness will be held to a minimum...

I hope you have good season also but mt airy fans seems get on folks in hurry we love the possibility of match up hey come up to town and have beer at the loaded Goat

You are correct. I am not from Randolph County. I will add that ER, Thomasville and MA all will make the 1A West more interesting this year. All are very athletic and strong this year.

Nope no moon pie I like Mexican restaurants and tacos and zombies mixed drinks but I'm saying it was matter time before we tag you before you win the title in 1a
