This is the game that I've dreaded to see come up. SWE has a very short history vs EW, having only played them twice (2023 @EW, W 27-20, 2024 @SWE, W 15-6), but the EW Warriors have been coming up over the last few years, after being a low level team for most of my football knowledge. Just last season, they made it to the 3 round of the playoffs.
Our games against them the last two years have been some of the most physical football we've had to endure. That doesn't bode well for my Cougars, as we just got roughed up by Wilson Prep. We're consistently smaller than our opponents on the line, and this game will be no different. I'm not entirely confident with this one, and believe that it's possible that they could blow us out of the water. Last week's film vs WP will surely give teams a blueprint for success: Bring the wood. And EW definitely has the wood. Gonna be an interesting one. One in which we cannot play like we did vs WP in that first half, or else it'll be over for us.

Very explosive team. I was shocked to see how close and low scoring the last two games were. Coaches son at QB, Izeiah Oates, 4 year starter, Top 50 in career passing yards in the state. His best weapon is 5’9 track state champion in hurdles Jeremiah Faison. Very fast, very explosive, and dangerous. They also have two WRs that are really tall, Levi is 6’7 and Charlie is 6’4

at first I thought this would be a somewhat win persuaded to EW side but looking at yall history TBH idk how this one plays out. I like EW a lot this year in 4A. This is a huge matchup for SWE

Important homecoming game tonight for SWE. Eastern Wayne is deep, so fatigue shouldn't be an issue. And although they aren't as big as Wilson Prep, I do believe that it will be much tougher to move the ball against them. I'm hoping for a SWE blowout, but I'm expecting a 5 point game for the winner, whoever that may be. I do believe that EW can beat us.

Homecoming and the crowd is the worst I've seen in a long time. I guess gunshots will keep people away.

I forgot that EW passes the ball a lot. Gonna be interesting to see how we respond to that type of offense.

Tough running and sweet passing have given the Warriors 3 consecutive third down conversions. Ball at the SWE 25.

EW's snapper keeps sliding the ball on the ground with his shotgun snaps. Last one got away from the QB for a fumble. QB recovered. SWE player injury.

Very next play, another SWE injury. Looks like ankles in both instances.

Defense is as good as I was afraid of on the first drive. We moved the ball to the ew 47, but went backwards from there.

Wow. Punt returner coasts to the SWE 25. The returner was gonna easily score, but he tried to switch hands and fumbled the ball without being touched. SWE recovered at own 20.

I don't know what we saw on film, but we're spread out on offense tonight. 4 receivers in most plays so far. Not something we do.

A slobber fest is what I expected, and a slobber fest is what we're getting. These are two of the best defenses in the conference and it's showing. EW has a nice passing attack and their defense is so quick. I'm impressed.

EW backs are bringing that wood I mentioned in the opening statement. And we can't handle it. Another injured player. I've never seen us be so injured so much like this season. We're pretty soft.
