Wimsatt is an adequate college run first QB but he is an inaccurate soft-tosser.

He just doesn’t a rocket arm and he’s consistently inaccurate. That will lead to tons of picks v the upper half of the BiG.

Hopefully Surace is the answer next yr.

The running is great but the passing... that's where we are really hurting. If we want to have any shot at upsetting Ohio State (which let's be honest is very slim), he has to be accurate which... he's not...

The difference is Winsatt looks horrific against the bad teams.
At this point .. because you message board guys complain about gavin after every game, whether win or lose...I really hope that they bench Gavin and start Evan Simon next game..tired of seeing you guys b*tch after an incompletion...let's see how Evan looks and how the team responds to benching wimsatt, the captain. On a 6-2 team, bowl eligible for the first time in more than a decade...I swear I didn't see ppl complain about Noah vedral or Arthur sitowski...last time I saw this at Rutgers was with Gary nova and laviano or was that dodd? .. coincidentally, that's the last time RU was good lol so I guess that brings the trolls and people that expect NFL caliber QB play out of these guys their freshman year...to your surprise Gavin is one of the better QBs in the big ten this year...I remember guys were upset the QB that recently got benched at buffalo transfered and they felt Gavin was handed the job...Gavin makes your team better, the running game is so formidable partly because of the threat of Gavin taking off . But let's see how the offense looks depending only on Evan simons arm talent...

Get your crow here! Fresh crow! Lots of demand, get it while it's available!

I would say winning when the QB is 5/12 for 39 yards is the definition of winning despite the passing game.

Multiple things can be true at the same time: our passing offense has been bad to terrible. It hasn't hindered us from winning 6 games this year.

The question now is can we continue to win games as the competition gets better with such passing game.

I don't think anyone can honestly say our passing game is where it needs to be. Hopefully our run game and "grind and pound the ball" strategy gets us some wins in the next stretch of the schedule but... Ohio State is gonna be much harder to do what we just did against Indiana. It'll be electric in 2 weeks and hopefully we all, including Wimsatt, feed off the major energy.

Simple solution....start Simon...team is unwatchable on offense with wimsatt...

Iowa is going to be a rock, paper, scissors battle.

Drew allar much better passer than wimsatt and he was throwing ducks into the dirt... bouncing passes off the turf all day...so wimsatt has no chance have to go with Simon...

He’s close. This is really his first full season and you can see the progress. The inaccurate throws I think were about him getting too excited to see these huge plays out there. Adrenaline took over. Really love that Benjamin play. He’ll hit that next time. We’re 6-2 and look like real team that plays like a true team on both sides of ball. To the best damn fans anywhere on the planet: enjoy!

Best QB we've had on the Banks since Teel. I don't understand the ignorance of those that fail to see it. He is managing the game exactly how Greg wants him too, geez already.

These people are morons. Plain and simple.

No one is going to say the kid is an accurate passer right now. But accuracy (letting the ball sail) seems to be the one glaring issue.

Literally everything else he seems to be doing at least competently.

I would be far more concerned if he was turning the ball over, making a lot of poor decisions, looking like the game is too fast for him . Those are FAR more serious problems. He’s doing all those things pretty well.

Again, he cleans up the high-throws and this offense goes to the next level.

Going with Simon would be beyond moronic

I'd say he has a ways to go before I'll say he's better than gnova lol but yeah I don't understand it either...you would think they would get the picture after the 6th win and being bowl eligible for the first time in forever. But here we are .smh
