Egg Bowl 2013 Helmet Concept #1

I had a couple of gold helmet concepts from last year but I thought i could add a couple things, like, a faint (ghost) emblem and the silver facemask (which i like)....Your thoughts and ideas?

Tweaks: Date, Info, Slightly diff'nt helmet, rebel reflection in visor, etc....

on the player, straight ahead view looks awesome. Should use real the gold acrylic ala Notre Dame

Block the man in front of you...catch the football...ect..Focus on the game! I'm afraid all these "one game" uniforms do is distract OUR players. Don't get me wrong, I like em'...but when the changes are more than subtle from what they're used to seeing all year, they become counterintuitive and distractive to our own team. Just my two cents.

My thoughts are that by doing all these extra things is simply complimentary to OM. They don't do all that kind of crap and they won the game easily last year. Just treat it like any other game and concentrate on playing football. Same for the Snow Bowl II disaster.

Don't get me wrong, I hate em'. Pretty embarrassing when you come out in your cutesy uniforms like we did against Texas A&M and Ole Miss last year and get your butts handed to you. Think we should come out in our maroon and white uniforms (minus the stripes if Stricklin allows) and play hard.

I like the look straight on but the side view looks a bit less rich of a color. Otherwise it is a cool helmet.

I am also in the "let's just act like we've been here before" crowd and would rather our hype come from playing well. But I do appreciate your efforts.

just look better. I saw a pic of the Mississippi unis last year and gray and they looked good. I wish we would incorporate the gray/silver into the maroon white at all times.

Let the Confederates use silver and grey, ill stick with maroon an white. The gold helmets look pretty good but I'd rather see State beat om not Notre dame beat om. We need an identity and if we keep changing our look then people will keep being confused with who we are. Not saying we shouldn't ever try something different or new, but damn I miss having the identity we had under sherrill with our uniforms.

I totally disagree. We wore maroon and white for decades and no one knew who the heck we were (ie Mississippi State Rebels) so why would it matter now?

One of the first things that comes to mind when someone mentions Oregon football is "what uniform are they wearing this week?". Alternate uniforms do create some extra excitement around a program. Of course if we don't actually win some games then it does not matter what we wear.

I like it... I also loved the white helmets but would have liked to have seen them with flat grey facemasks like this one.

I'm not against the changing the uni's up if players and recruits like it. I thought the aTm uniforms we're bad ***. We, however, got curb stomped so it didn't matter after the first 2:00 mins. Maybe not publicizing them so much and just wear them. just wear them and don't match them to any historic game for US. I thought the Egg bowl uniforms this year were fine, but you better not rub it in the other teams face if you're going to play like jane. Nothing wrong with the uni's looking good just not so much publicity over why, just put them on and go play, stop telling everyone why.

If gimmicky uniforms are worn for purposes of recruiting and your *** gets kicked, its kind of like ending up with egg on your face. You don't see traditional winning teams resorting to this kind of stuff. Check it out.

I love the look tied in with Maroon and White. I also think this does help in adding some distinction from TAMU. Cosmetically speaking of course.

Was it our uniforms that people knew or Sherrill? Never heard one person outside the south compliment our uniforms, but the first thing out of their mouth was always about Jackie Sherrill.

those look good, but i echo the other comments about this game and the snow bowl specifically. i would like to deemphasize the specialty uniform for these games and emphasize the effort and preparation that go into the actual playing of the game.

i think for us long term, we need to develop the use of a 3rd color (grey/silver and not gold) to help distinguish ourselves from aTm AND to give us some better combinations for unis. i love bringing in the grey pants this year. i think you got it right when you did those 3 stripe helmets (grey, white, grey) and shoulder stripe unis. those are by far our best options.

Out of all the players currently on our roster

Which ones came to State because of the Black Jerseys? SnowBowl whites? Or the gold numbers we've been wearing on Thanksgiving week? Yea, I'm sure the players currently on the team enjoy something new once in a while, but I'm not convinced jerseys got them on the team to begin with. It seems like jerseys are just a small, superficial thing in recruiting and I'm not convinced that kids go to Oregon because of alternates as much as I'm not convinced that kids go to Alabama because of their traditionals.

But don't throw me in the 1984 crowd, I actually enjoy alternates as long as they look good. And I just don't consider gold and maroon to look good together. I'm not an expert at matching colors but those two just don't go. The snowbowl whites are the only alternates we've used that I don't consider to be a swing and a miss from an aesthetics standpoint.

As for Chilly, you do an awesome job. Please forgive me for not being a fan of the color combinations we've been using in the Egg Bowl and keep up the good work.

Nothing negative aimed specifically at your design. It looks fine. I just prefer to see our team wear our school colors on our familiar uniforms. Plus it only adds to the embarrassment when you put yourself out there like this and then proceed to get your butts handed to you especially when the opposition was business as usual. If you want to commemorate something wear a patch.

yo...chillbilly (or anybody else that has the skill)...i have a request...take the pic of the ut uniforms i posted yesterday, and make them msu unis, except crop out the nipples and make the mannequins penis much bigger.**

really though, i think those are really sharp and would love to see them in maroon and white and with one of those color tools, it might be a fairly quick job for you....minus the helmet work. not sure if you are into request work or not, but i thought i would ask.

Don't get me wrong, I like it, but ND has the whole "gold helmet" thing on lockdown. We should stick to maroon and white.
