play all of our SEC away games when the opposition crowd is fully energized and liquored up.
I just don't know what to say to thisI expect the crowd to be 50/50. Day or night. I don't think it'll make a difference.
Once again... Just don't know what to say about thisWell, to be fair, the Vaught isn't really known as a bastion of rambunctiousness anyway, even at night. The State fans will more than likely be much louder - though I don't feel that will be enough to help our defense out any.
I think Mullen said it best today: "I'll play them in the parking lot at nine in the morning."
I kind of wish Dan would just keep his mouth shut with the condescending remarks towards them.
Once again... Just don't know what to say about this
For some stupid reason, I actually thought CBS might pass on the Iron Bowl and pick our game instead. I hope Bama is up by 100 at halftime and everyone switches over to UF-FSU.
I get more disgusted everyday with CBS. They would much rather show one of their "glamour teams" like Bama beat somebody by 100 than show an actual competitive game in the conference. This Auburn team has quit even trying and its a joke to show them on the CBS spotlight game.
Bama has a huge national following, and you can bet Saban is going to skull 17 Chizik, to make it clear the Cam win was an epic fluke. I hope Nick does RUTS them.
more of CBS's target market would tune in to a lopsided Iron Bowl vs a competitive Egg Bowl most every time.
From a revenue standpoint, it's the correct decision.
It doesn't matter how good the game is, if nobody ever tunes in to see it the ratings will be low. As I said earlier, it's not just CBS, it's all the networks. And I'm sure they're not all dumb enough to show the ratings losers when there are better games (ratings wise) to choose from. I've made the comparison before to tennis. In the 1st week of the Slams, all ESPN shows are the top players' matches. These are almost all blowouts and boring, boring, boring. I watch much better matches that week on the Tennis Channel. But I can guarantee you ESPN's ratings for those boring matches dwarf the Tennis Channel's ratings for much better and more interesting matches. It's the same with Bama-Auburn and MSU-Mississippi. If I'm an impartial college football fan, I'd rather watch MSU-UM on the Tennis Channel. But I'm obviously in the minority and most impartial fans would rather watch the Bama-Auburn blowout.
But only because I'm on Dish and Dish, for whatever reason, doesn't carry ESPNU in HD. I'm complained to them to no avail.
I hope we get Herm Edwards
