We may have found the source of our recruiting woes...Largest audience since 2014
That’s…. Surprising. At the same time the Chiefs and Raiders were playing?Largest audience since 2014
Nailed it.I'm sure many fans of the other 3 loss SEC teams (South Carolina & Bama) vying for a playoff spot were tuned in hoping we could pull the upset.
It's true, Ole Miss can pull a nation wide audience.Largest audience since 2014
I assume you mean the majority of the nation who tunes in to hopefully see them shiit the bed. It's true, Ole Miss can pull a nation wide audience.
Yep. If State can make a dime extra from espn, .... they will move it.Nah. Keenum will wax nostalgically about thanksgiving egg bowls (and losing to southern miss) so prepare the for typical Thanksgiving day when we host next year.
This. More than day.Network matters a ton, and this was on ABC. The Big 4 networks draw way better viewership than the “cable channels” do in most instances.
2014 was on CBS, another Big 4 network. Don’t think anything since has been until this year.
It was 2.3 last yearAnd the 2014 Egg Bowl was played on a Saturday. Been trying to tell people Thanksgiving night sucks for TV viewership. NFL draws every casual fan and Egg Bowl gets basically only State & UM fans. BTW, the last few Egg Bowls on Thanksgiving night have drawn about 1,000,000 viewers.

funny info about this... they have to estimate how many people watch it over free antenna TV when it is on ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX So some of the total is over/under just based on estimationsThis. More than day.
My bad. It was a 1.0 rating, which translates to 2.3M viewers. Still roughly double in the Friday afternoon slot, and 2014 on Saturday drew over 5M viewers (although it was a much more attractive game that year). It was 2.3 last yearView attachment 710199
I will add and I know it sounds crazy in 2024 but being on a network vs cable automatically adds viewership. Look at the top ratings for last weekend the top 9 are networks.

When The Peeper can't see we have a serious problem.
Was also on cable head to head vs a NFL game on network TVMy bad. It was a 1.0 rating, which translates to 2.3M viewers. Still roughly double in the Friday afternoon slot, and 2014 on Saturday drew over 5M viewers (although it was a much more attractive game that year).
Yeah that didn’t copy over well. Maybe this works better?
…and the largest disparity of talent between the two schools since the 1960s…great*****Largest audience since 2014
And people actually thought that the expanded playoff would kill the intrigue of regular season gamesI'm sure many fans of the other 3 loss SEC teams (South Carolina & Bama) vying for a playoff spot were tuned in hoping we could pull the upset.
Wait until you see the playoff bowl game numbers compared to the non playoff game bowl numbersAnd people actually thought that the expanded playoff would kill the intrigue of regular season games
Yes, that was the dumbest argument in the history of arguments. Anyone who can find their *** with at least one hand should have been able to figure it it would actually increase interest in the regular season, biggly. And people actually thought that the expanded playoff would kill the intrigue of regular season games
Yep. Which is wild. Like who watches the Egg Bowl bc it’s on ABC and would not watch on espn. Anyone watching the egg bowl has some sort of sub with ESPN.Network matters a ton, and this was on ABC. The Big 4 networks draw way better viewership than the “cable channels” do in most instances.

not as many as you would think. most tv package subscribers yes, but there are some places you can still get a tv package without espn. then there are 18M people in the USA that watch TV with HD antennas.Yep. Oh I know that. It’s just counterintuitive that anyone without espn would watch the egg bowl on abc particularly on Black Friday afternoon.not as many as you would think. most tv package subscribers yes, but there are some places you can still get a tv package without espn. then there are 18M people in the USA that watch TV with HD antennas.
Why was this necessary to interject into an Egg Bowl attendance discussion? Rowdey and Tanner pee in your cheerios?About 4 Times the viewers than our CWS championship.
Nah just a reminder that we have invested probably $75 Million in baseball the last 10 years and have the same number of Nattys as Coastal Carolina and Ole Miss. Why was this necessary to interject into an Egg Bowl attendance discussion? Rowdey and Tanner pee in your cheerios?
If profit and success are the answer, every football program but one each year needs to shut it all down. They all lose money and fail. Except 1.Nah just a reminder that we have invested probably $75 Million in baseball the last 10 years and have the same number of Nattys as Coastal Carolina and Ole Miss.
