There should be no age limit to play or be on scholarship however the window should be 5 seasons with rare exceptions for 6

In football there has to be an age limit. Men playing against boys is a recipe for injuries.
Sorry I disagree. If someone played baseball pro then came back to college as a pitcher or WR they may be 5 to 10 years older. Also suppose someone committed to military service then grew half a foot in next few years and played hoops a 24 or 25 year old cant fetch a ship off that?

Football is a physical sport. Maturity adds strength. The stronger player (man) can overpower a less physically developed player (boy).

I'm not in favor with much older players competing against much younger ones in any sport. But even more so in football.

This is the kind of crap that makes it easier to stomach seasons like this. 10 years ago seasons like this would have ate me up. Now, the highs aren’t as high and the lows aren’t as low. Sport is a total joke now, it’s little more than a distraction and something to do in the cold winter months as a bridge to spring.

This. Huge difference in physical maturity and a high contact/impact sport. Recipe for catastrophic injury.

No we have rules for a reason. It's why we would never let Oscar De La Hoya fight Mike Tyson. It's why the heavyweight never wrestles the 152 lb guy. Why don't we let the 8th graders play in the 3rd-4th grade games.

The point I made is that football is a physical sport that can result in major injuries to less mature younger players.

Apples and oranges comparing a basketball player vs a football player.

That said I know my opinion is meaningless but I am not in favor of any athlete playing college sports for 6, 7, 8 years.

I don't think 24 year olds who have been in "college" for 6 years should be playing basketball either. They should have been out of college for 2 years already.
Every young person today deserves a trophy. Eligibility remains until you get one.

AJSM (24) is playing against 18 year olds. I haven't seen anyone complaining about that.
I never knew he was 24. Jeez, makes it that much worse for how much he stinks. No wonder he’s checked out. Dude wants to move on in life.
