Either get serious about football or shut the $$$$ down.

Shut it down. Throw it all on women's tennis and track. That seems to be what we can be good at

I'm willing to pump in more $ but our pres, AD, and the powers have got to stop half-assing football
Here is a blunt truth about the excuse of money with this program.

When you average it out, our per seat and club required donations are damn near the same as UM’s. We pay it to watch 5-2-5 win seasons though.

Even better? Indiana’s highest donation requirement outside of club is 250 dollars. They are about to be 12-0.

No, they're not. They just happened to catch lightning in a bottle with Kiffin. It can't and won't last forever. They just don't have the money to do it long term and continue spending with the big boys.
They are generating the money to keep this thing going.

And their tier 1 donors care about more than baseball. They would let their baseball program die if it meant another 10-win football season. Basketball is where they have caught lightning in a bottle with Beard. They like winning, but will not sacrifice football to win in basketball.

This is the way. We’ll be in the Sun Belt and our morons will be saying, “wait til baseball season.”

So do ours I can promise you that. We have the Adkersons, Howards, Seals, Rulas and a few others that are paying for everything. We ask them for coaching buyouts, facilities, NIL you 17ing name it and those are the guys picking up the phone and paying the bill every time. We can not continue to keep going to these same people for everything. There has to be new blood injected into the booster pool of MSU athletics, via a younger generation of alums or from the corporate community but we cannot keep going to these same people same group for everything, we will never grow our brand and bank accounts.

Look, I love baseball and basketball but I know it’s football that butters the bread for all sports programs at a university. If we want to improve, we have to invest in big upgrades in coaching, NIL, transfer, strength, player evaluation, facilities, all of it. I’m not convinced our President, AD or current coaching staff have any clue how to do that.

This whole notion that baseball is defunding football is so ridiculous and uninformed. The new Dude and the Hump renovation was mostly paid for from one singular family. One. The same one. We have to grow our boosters, Selmon understands this and the financial situation he inherited specifically with NIL across all sports, including the delusional mythical baseball, was DIRE. You guys want to blame everything but the real problem and the problem is money.

My God the lack of informed opinions in this thread. Do any of you really believe we're just not spending on Football? Do any of you really believe that we weren't drastically improved from last year? You have got to stop comparing us to the Lane era of Ole Miss. ****, LSU Florida etc... are trying to hire him, are they not spending like Ole Miss? It isn't as simple as spending, we need time to build or essentially win the lottery with a coaching hire like they did. Probably not the best head coach because he's a selfish prick, but Lane is easily the best play caller in football.

Lebby and his band of losers have a major portal bonanza opening up. Five days after a school makes a public announcement confirming a coaching hire, there's a 15 day portal window that opens up. With all the reshuffling going on that means there's going to be a ton of opportunities to upgrade both lines of scrimmage. If we're talking about how thin we are in spring practice it won't matter what assistants are hired. The next 8 weeks is going to make or break Lebby.

It’s not just the money. It’s the attitude. If we win the natty in baseball but go 2-10 in football, our fanbase should be apoplectic. Because one matters and the other is baseball. But our fanbase is placated with baseball.

Look, I'm pissed too and if Selmon raises ticket prices again then I'm out. However, acting like we were not night and day improved from last year is just asinine
We are not! State has modest improvement offensively because our Starting QB stayed healthy all year and State added 3 and 0 to the WR room, and 24 to the RB room. The last 3 games showed the defense has regressed. The offensive line could have been complicit in assault on our QBs and RBs were there charges filed! Hang Hutzler around Lebby’s neck and send them both packing.

So whose mind are you trying to change?

our AD got our former Dogs who played or are playing in the MLB and they stepped up with money. Our primary baseball boosters stepped up.

what has our AD done to get our former players turned multi-millionaires by the NFL into big time donors? He may have tried and they said NO. He may have gotten a couple involved and they stepped up. But there are enough multi-millionaires shown on the State To Sunday’s video to fund 5 years and never miss the money.

Baseball is like eyebrows on a woman. Sure, it’s great if they aren’t hideous, but they aren’t gonna cover up a weight problem and a snaggle tooth. At the same time if a woman has a great body, but her eye brows are bushy, you can probably look past it. Our alumni have convinced themselves that having good eyebrows make them attractive.
