Johnson said today "I left Auburn in 2007 victorious but Auburn never left me"

I guess Southern will save some money. They can now take those savings and make a down payment on the $5,000,000 they owe FEMA as a result of stealing that money.

After going 0-12, he needs to take the first job he gets offered. After all, he has shown he isn't scared to take a job, then jump to another one a week later. Ask Arkansas.

He has to..he's got a young wife and feels the pressure. Otherwise he'd probably elect not to work for a while, or retire from coaching. He certainly doesn't have to work.

Very true, but Auburn will be hard for us to beat next year! They will be a handful for a defense.

Why? Are they getting a QB? Malzahn is good but they still have no QB yet atleast that I'm aware of.

Kiehl Frazier was Malzahn's hand-picked QB to run his offense. The complaint by Auburn people all season was that Frazier was suited for Malzahn's offense, but not for the pro set they switched over to. I'm not saying he will instantly be good, but there is a chance he will be able to live up to his recruiting hype.

The Frazier I saw is going to suck no matter what. Scheme will help though, and Malzahn has a way of making their players play with confidence and they end up in position to make plays.

But there again, they have no Michael Dyer, Onterrio McCalebb, Deangelo Bention, Philip Lutzenkirchen or Emory Blake.

What worries me is that their OL and DL are starting to mature. Coates, Bray and Mason would be bad news for us.

It will be tough over there regardless. Their qb play can only improve. They will be playing with poise and a new intensity. Mullen needs to circle this game..again, needs to do it the day after our bowl!

Looks like he's officially accepted the position.

My Auburn people are saying it's official and I think a few tv stations are stating to report on it. Good hire for Auburn. A Malzahn/Ellis Johnson combo at Auburn is a formidable one. Good job by them finding a proven DC very quickly.

they're getting hit from all directions: have to pay EJ; owe FEMA for fraud; Arky State and LaTech jobs are open (better jobs). They better hope someone will take their vacant job for little or nothing. Maybe Brett will volunteer but understand he would not make a very good coach.

Frances Lucas, USM's VP of Gulf Park, "said $3.85 million was mostly spent properly."

Which means that she admits that part of the money was spent improperly. And even if only one dollar was spent improperly, that is fraud and they should not only have to return the money, but pay a substantial fine also. And it could even be a criminal act.
