Seems like a better fit at LSU. I think Rhule tried to hire him 3 years ago.
Tough to replace a coach that did such a great job with the DL this year and also signed zero recruits.
I suppose if I were a recruit and my key desires were to not get drafted, underwhelm and piss off the fans then Butler would have had my signature early on in the process

Maybe, because it would mean great Dline play and likely a top 5 recruiting class next year! Also means a top 10 class pretty much regularly. This guy would be the best recruiter we have seen here since John Blake.
Makes sense. I remember when he was at aTm he was pretty widely regarded as Jimbo’s best coach. Will be a great get if we can get him

Maybe Rhule discussed that with the new dc during the interview and upon him?
Or Bradden coaches DTs and Robinson DEs. We’ve done that in the past. It seems we have an unlimited budget for assistant coaches
oh come on man... That's not how any professional organization works... I would almost guarantee you that Matt called Aurich and said something to the effect of "I Think I can get this guy who's an absolute stud of a coach... you want him?" and anyone with a brain, especially an up and coming DC would say "Oh Yeah... go Snag that guy!"
I'll criticize the guy when it's warranted, in this case... not so much... Not everything has to be Negative...
