oh come on man... That's not how any professional organization works... I would almost guarantee you that Matt called Aurich and said something to the effect of "I Think I can get this guy who's an absolute stud of a coach... you want him?" and anyone with a brain, especially an up and coming DC would say "Oh Yeah... go Snag that guy!"

I'll criticize the guy when it's warranted, in this case... not so much... Not everything has to be Negative...
Thank you!

Maybe Rhule discussed that with the new dc during the interview and upon him?

Yeah, that's certainly possible. But then there's the question of, we don't have an opening for a D Line coach. Very unorthodox to be publicly shopping for a coach when the position isn't even available. So what's the message to Bradden? We're keeping you...unless we can find someone better, then we're replacing you. Never mind the fact that I guess we haven't technically announced Rob Aurich as DC yet. So, is it possible that Aurich fell through and Elijah Robinson is being looked at for DC? And of course, the fact that the Toledo guy, who we at least know interviewed, goes to Syracuse over us which just seems weird, and it's supposedly because we wouldn't let him bring his guys, but now we are looking at one of the guys at Syracuse. It's just all seeming pretty messy. Feels like Rhule is playing a game of whack-a-mole.

Robinson I think has settled at his competence level. He’s a great recruiting DL coach. He might never get another shot to be a DC. He has multiple opportunities now I’m sure. Well have to over pay to get him IMO.

The head coach is responsible for the hiring and firing of assistants. Not the OC and DC. That means it's the head coach that determines the level of independence for anyone on his staff.
Also, the Google machine tells me that as of 17 hours ago, Robinson had not signed his contract. How close are Rhule and Robinson?

Or one guy coaches DTs and the other DEs. Tom had two O line coaches and I think Carl split D line duties with someone.

I have an idea. Maybe we can see how this all plays out first before praising/criticizing the move? I have my doubts that we will land him, but if he is as good as advertised, then hiring him can’t be a bad thing.

So, everyone should stop posting what they think about this...as you go on to tell us all what you think about this? Lmao

Can we outbid LSU?
In an NIL World where 5-Star kids are getting paid millions, DONU can't afford NOT to pay top shelf coaches top dollar... it's the haves vs the have nots... I hate to always go back to the comparison but look what Cig did with 3 star kids "last year"... if Aurich can do that overall on the defense and Robinson can do his thing on the DL then the Blackshirts might just have something to earn the Skull & Bones moniker again... NO ONE Fears the Nebraska Defense... I want that SUH mentality back with opposing dudes sitting in Ice baths wondering WTF just hit them...

I mean if you really want him you just say "Here, whatever LSU offers you, we will offer X amount more"

Then if he doesn't want to come you know you tried.

A good Defensive line coach is worth paying for. Especially if u wanna be a developmental team. OL and DL are two spots u don't pench pennies on imo.

You want us to consistently have one of the best D-Lineman in college football history. Got it.

The guy is making what I believe is positive changes, if you dislike him so much may I suggest you stop watching stop posting until Rhule is fired
While I agree we should give these new guys a chance, these changes are necessary due to Rhule's own hiring mistakes. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence for the next round of coaching busts.
