It will be a sad and financially devastating day that Thad Cochran leaves the Senate. For a UM Alum, he has treated our university very well, and probably better than his own.

Actually, now that Wicker is in the Senate and not on Appropriations, he can not do jack **** in the way of earmarks anymore. The only thing he can do now is get his name beside Cochran's projects. The dumbest move in the history of Mississippi was appointing Wicker to the Senate. Wicker would have been the ranking republican on House Appropriations within 10 years, and instead he is now a Senator VERY low on the totem poll with absolutely no power.
