If ER can get past BYE, they've got the winner of this one. Any thoughts on how these two stack up? I see Mount Airy played both.

Draughn wins big. Elkin is crawling to the finish line right now.
Elkin must be really bad for you to think Draughn wins big .. we played Draughn last Saturday and they were pretty bad and we (Polk) are mediocre. I think Draughn had like 28 yards of offense...

Elkin is missing a few key players including their QB. They've really fallen off the last few weeks getting blown out by Starmount and South Stokes. Also losing to Alleghany.

They weren't very good to begin with.

They must have been hit hard by graduation as well because they were tough in the spring

I saw Draughn and I have seen Elkin twice this year. I would suggest that Elkin opt out of playing this game for safety reasons. Draughn is much larger and athletic given Elkins status now (see above comments about injuries).
Unless Draughn just shoots themselves in the foot about 15 to 20 times they win this game fairly easy.

What’s your opinion on Dula the running back from Draughn. Heard he’s a talented young man

I would never opt out of a playoff game I just think it sends a bad message to the kids to give up and not even try,I would especially feel bad for the seniors …personally if my kids were playing and opted out I’d be pissed…unless it’s financial or some unforeseen circumstances

Agree to a point. But you look at Rosman, they played on the 22nd, the season was over and equipment taken up. No idea they would make the playoffs due to the NCHSAA making a poor choice in keeping two teams out. So you have about 15 players, haven’t practiced in a week, taken all your equipment up. And then the NCHSAA calls you last minute and says hey you are in the playoffs and we need you to go 300 miles and play an unbeaten ER team. I mean I would have told them to go F themselves

Hard to say because against Mt Airy he did nothing! I was the City Manager of Valdese from 1976 to 1980, built a house there and love the town. So please understand, I in no way would put somebody down from there. But against Mt Airy's D and speed they only had one pass play that worked. I was expecting a lot from their QB and RB but they were held in check the entire game.

Been up to Valdese for some bluegrass when my dad was alive and still playing. Think it was the music barn or something to that affect. Very nice area

Fellow bluegrass lover eh?
My dad was on a band for almost 40 years. I was drug to festivals all over the place as a kid, around the Osborne’s, Seldom Scene, Country Gentlemen, you name it, all the time. Didn’t appreciate as a kid, but I look back now and I’m grateful to have experienced so much

My dad was also a part of a band singing bluegrass gospel in a group from Whittier NC. Loved it then and love it even more now.

A group from Whittier? That's pretty cool considering how that's a blip on the map. Although the history of Whittier is a pretty cool story.

At home games I almost always stand along the end line fence in front of field house. Not as good as being on top row of stands but I get to see half of every game up close. And there are anywhere from 5 or 6 to 10 to 15 guys that are just fans get together and a watch and talk. Open to any and all.
