Glad you like getting beat in every facet. Moral victories are your thing I guess.
Actually look at the stats and you'll see that we shot better overall and threes we shot better free throws. They shot 15 more but what killed us was turnovers. Those are facts. Turnover were our downfall and we can fix that.
What Defense? What hustle/rebounding? What free throws? We sucked in every facet of the game.
we out rebounded them and shot better at all levels. The passed better and tirned us over... that was the difference but it doesnt fot your agenda
After spending more than double than any team in the country to buy players ($22mil), he should have a bench full of Elite players......but he doesn't. He may want to learn how to teach his team defense
Man, you just make **** up don't you? You don't know what Team including the cats spent what

Oweh is concerning. Is he a full time cry baby now? Put your head down and hustle. Got punked by a freshman and he’s Pre season all American
Oweh was never AA good. He would be a great complimentary piece on a really good team, but he’s not talented enough to be “the man” to go get you buckets when you’re in a close game. And if he thinks he’s gonna get you those points by jacking up threes, he’s also dumber than I thought he was.

They are paid pro players now. Show up and play hard start to finish without excuses. Guys were soft most of the game.

No excuses. You can’t always have a team of new players play lights out in November at an away game like that. Very, very few teams would have had a chance to win that game the way Louisville played. It’s truth, you cannot always come out like you want. Wait until the team drops a lot of games before you take anything from that. My God, it’s barely out of October and they almost won that game. They had a great shot.

I want to win every game and I’m not someone that has ever made excuses. Kentucky needs to uphold our records start to finish. But we have a coach who gets that. But you can’t beat a team every single time. 18-40. The way Louisville wanted that game and played, I can guarantee you the midget noticed exactly what I’m saying. Louisville could not hit harder than that. It’s their max. And they almost lost at home to a team wud never played together at all when they weren’t even 75% of what they will be.

I’ll be concerned when I see them dropping more games than this and after they’re at least fully healthy and at max effort. That wasn’t close to that tonight.

We got punched hard by Mike Tyson tonight, once in the first half and once in the second. We didn’t stay down, we got up and landed a flurry that almost won us the fight. The final round we made poor decisions and ended up losing but both teams had big big runs tonight. It was the 14 TOs the their 6 that cost us. Protect the ball and make better decisions tonight and we win that game by 3-4.

Even as poorly as we played for stretches we were down 4 with 3 minutes left and shooting a one and one with the momentum in our favor. We just didn’t execute down the stretch. We don’t dig that hole though and we win even not playing our A game.

I hate losing to Louisville as much as anyone but hats off, they won one finally. They came prepared and played a better more consistent game. Had we played our A game we would’ve won, our C game was good enough to take it to the final minutes. That’s shows me all I need to know. Time to grind and execute as the season goes on.

I know it’s only the 3rd game of the year, but we didn’t appear to have a pulse most of the game. $22 million, and I’m not sure any of our players would start for UL…maybe one. Who would have thought that Khalifa would be the best big in the game? Some of the worst defense I’ve seen our team play in the last 20 years. Nobody should throw in the towel, it’s early, but this was a buzz kill. Three point shooting, rebounding, free throws, defense, all terrible. UL has a legit shot at a final 4.
You need to put your crack pipe down.

UK was better in every offensive statistical category and won the rebounding battle. TO’s were the problem and that can be fixed. This board’s overreaction is just comical at times

Losuville played as good as humanly possible. We played like absolute dogshit and had a shot to win in their house for their Super Bowl of the decade. It sucks I hate losing period. But this team, if they sucked, wouldn’t have had any chance in that game the way lousville played. Louisville won’t play that good all year mark they down. The potential of this team came through, not many teams could have ever had a shot in that game.

It’s NOVEMBER. It’s their SUPERBOWL of the decade. Louisville played lights out we didn’t even play with any fire. And we had a shot to beat them.

November guys. This team hasn’t even begun to be what they’re going to be. I hate it as much as the next guy but give them a second Colin is turning up, Jlow will come around, Aberdeen is gonna be a beast. Cam looks to be coming on. It’s a road game and a superbowl game in November. And it’s a good loss for them. I don’t always think that but they now see how this is going to be.

We can’t beat this team every single time we play. lol. They are 18-40.
And not playing with any FIRE......in our biggest game of the year not called the National Championship Game??? It's an epic coaching failure #2 as a HC if you can't get your team fired up for our biggest rival, if I recall we sucked butt in the Arkansas game last year....epic coaching failure #1, losing to our former HC.....Pope can't win the big games. He's too soft

I'm not to concerned... UofL played out of thier mind at home. We missed to many free throws, and looked alittle lost on offense.. Defense was not to bad.. Hard to stop someone that's hitting every shot with a hand in their face.. I think we win that at home. Pope said they focused much of the first of the year on defense... And just recently started on offense... It kind of showed... UofL had a player that played for Pope, so they had some insight into what he runs. Not to worried, we fought back... And didn't wilt. I doubt UofL looks that good the rest of the year. But they have some players. Free throw and turnovers. Credit there D for the turnovers. Freethrows just inexcusable.
Lol....focused on defense????? They better re-focus cause our defense sucked butt, wide open shots, multiple open shots under the basket and in the paint, just a pathetic defensive performance. Even Jay said horrible defense in so many words.

This is embarrassing and there is no one to blame but Pope. He was given 20+ million to build a team and this is the product he puts on the court! After games against Arkansas, Ohio st. and Georgia last year and now this game, there are serious questions about Pope's coaching. Poor defense. It is really bad at times.
To be fair, he missed on at least 3 players that would be big impact. So he did try to get them, just couldn’t.

When they went on the big first half run, our veteran led team jacked up bad shot after bad shot. It's one thing to miss quality looks, but you can't be a well coached group of veterans and panic shoot 3's early in a game to dig a massive hole.

Exactly. I get it it’s losiuvlle. But Louisville played as hard and as good as humanly possible. It was at their house in November. We STILL almost came within an eyelash of beating them playing as bad as we’ll play all year.

Ever seen UL come back to one of our really good teams at Rupp down 20+? No. It just shows what this team is going to turn into. They haven’t learned each other you can easily see it. Aberdeen is going to be an absolute beast. Cam is turning on possibly. Lowe hasn’t even laced them up long. JQ isn’t playing at all and possibly will in the next month and half. Colin is going to get lethal.

We almost won that game lol. It got close, and Louisville wanted that bad enough to sell their mother. 18-40 you can’t beat someone every single time. Past the emotion, the team has riches. Let’s see if they learn and come around to potential it’s November 11th. We’re barely out October.
And we didn't want it bad enough to sell our mother????? Our biggest rival...a huge game for both schools with potential recruits watching...are you insane?? This game means a lot a d it does for we UK fans, go back to your dream world

UL played a great game. They played with intensity. They played great defense. They ran their offense like we weren’t even in their way.

This was their Super Bowl and they won’t play that well again this season.

Hats off to them.

We didn’t play particularly well and that happens.

Not matching their intensity is what bothers me.

Louisville just wanted this game so much more than our team did. And it showed.
Pope is soft

What are you talking about? They shot 32.5% from 3. Missed 10 FTs. If they actually played "lights out", it'd be an RJ Barret / Zion level beatdown.

no, it doesn’t mean as much for UK. I’m a die hard UK fan raised UK but out of state. I’ve never met a losiville fan. Thought nothing of them at all. To everyone outside of losiville it’s just another team in the state. Their own city is half UK. Nobody knows or pays attention to Louisville. So no, lousville thinks about it. UK really doesn’t.

Through most of the game UL played as good as they possibly could. Kentucky played about 30% of potential. Losuville is 18-40 against UK. It’s a blood bath. We can’t win them all. Louisville is trash, no name program who has no following. We’ve won 40 of 58, that’s about as good as it gets. Can’t win them all.

Only forcing 6 Turnovers is excusable against a Turnover prone team.

Eh, it’s game 3 barely out of October. Nobody out coached anybody. It’s was an early home game for UL and a superbowl for them. Tough to win it when you come out like we did, and we still almost did.

But that's the same problem we had last season coming out slow and having to turn it on late. Pope has to fix that.

The biggest concerns about Pope is he is a career 63.8% winning percentage. Sure he coached at Utah Valley and BYU but he was playing against Utah Valley and BYU competition.

The other concerning thing about the guy who “understands the assignment” is we have had double digit duds of games in his 39 games. Terrible performances against OSU, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss, Vandy, Arkansas, Bama, Bama, Tenn, Auburn, UL and even the Georgetown game.

Pope starts a center who can’t score, a PF with the worst looking shot in college basketball, a shooting guard who can’t shoot, and until injury a wing who can’t guard anyone. Seems he’s not trying to put his best 5 out there in the right places.

So u don't think Kelsey is a good coach? Interesting
I didn't say that, so don't twist my word like a Democrat. He said he out coach Pope and I don't think he did. I think the issue was executing. They passed better so they had more assist and they took care of the ball better both of those Things are on the players. No I don't think Pope coached his best game, but kelsey didn't either.
