It has tradition and history and it is played in Cowboy stadium in one of the largest cities in the US. I agree, Book it!

The "new" Cotton Bowl at Jerry's World doesn't do anything for me. Went to both the back-to-back Ole Miss Cotton Bowls in 2009 and 2010, and the old stadium provided a way much better college atmosphere. The new stadium, much like most indoor football stadiums I've been in, felt antiseptic.

to ever say anything positive about the old Cotton Bowl. I'm sure my views are slanted by the fact that it was a dank, cold, cramped venue full of ******* Texans there to watch a total domination.
Just remember, bowls aren't about "college atmosphere." They're about money. Advantage: Jerryworld.

The old Cotton Bowl is a dump. Half-sized seats, often in wet, cold weather, is not what current bowl sponsors want, when you have the Death Star about 20 miles west. I've been to both too, and while the "awe" of Jerry World is a lot of "meh" to me, there is no doubt is a better bowl venue, especially if the Cotton Bowl were to vault back up in prominence and become a BCS bowl.
