But what does this have to do with Trump and his disciples touting the Epstein files, running on transparency, and then lying about the files/claiming they don’t exist/demanding minions stop asking/calling followers stupid/claiming they are a hoax/trying to distract away from the story?

As an aside, two things can be true at the same time. Trump could cut down on immigration issues and also be a lying, rapist, pedo. And the one does not forgive the other.

I've read several articles about Epstein and his trails. They say that only 30 or so of roughly 160 people mentioned on flight logs or Epstein's address book were ever at his private island. They say that Trump flew with Epstein 7 times in the 1990s but there is no evidence that he ever visited Epstein's island.
From what I've read (Politifact, CNN, Vanity Fair) these are the people alleged victims say they had sex with:
- Hedge Fund Manager Glen Dubin
- NM Governor Bill Richardson
- Dem Senator George Mitchell
- MIT Scientist Marvin Minsky
- Model Agency founder Jean Luc Brunel
- Prince Andrew
- Alan Dershowitz
I guess it's possible that the sex acts were only with Epstein and Maxwell. It's also possible that the DOJ under both Biden and Trump don't want to embarrass people who were accused when they simply don't have reliable evidence against them.
One other thing is the definition of sexual assault. These days an unwanted hug might be considered assault. Perhaps some of the accused participated in unwanted touching but not anything close to intercourse. It's also possible that victims lied for financial gain.
The only thing that seems certain is that Epstein and Maxwell lured under age girls to Little Saint James island and used them as hosts and also for their own sexual gratification. Anything more than that is speculation.

If you are referring to the Epstein files, they were in the possession and control of the Trump administration for years, with much of it being compiled by the FBI during the initial Trump administration. That has also been the case since January 2025.
