Great run for the seniors on this Bears team. I have a few thoughts on this, I posted on another thread the importance of depth and the future of 1a football, I’m a bears fan but have been high on the cards since the beginning of the season, I’ve made it known on both boards. They are very good but are junior laden, next year they return most everybody and will be loaded. I personally don’t think they have a best player , I think they are balanced as a team. Now for all the noise , when both teams were a 100 percent we know who won , I will leave it at that. I remember way back when when this run for the bears got started at an away game a Polk county they wasn’t supposed to win. Then made a run at the west regional against a great Thomasville team. They lost that night , the dogs tacked on a score or two when there was no need to and I remember coach price standing On the sidelines with a dumbfounded mad as hell look on his face, that look must of burned a hole in benji brown and his staff. I think that fired coach up for those many bear vs dogs games after that , bears went on to dominate that series. That last score for the cards on Friday with about 4 minutes to go wasn’t needed but a little salt on the wound that the injured bear squad was feeling , coaching staff included. I hope that fires this bunch up as much as it did coach price on that night in thomasville . Cards will be loaded next year, Bears will be young, but they return more than enuff talent and have a lot more coming, they can still be pretty dog gone good and contend for a conference title. Again not taking anything from the cards , great victory over the rival , and I am pulling for you. But hate it for coach diamont as this is the weakest western regional in recent memory, luck was on your side catching the bears at 60 percent . But I will say this , if you make it to the ship REALITY WILL SET IN REAL QUICK when you see the Vikings come out of the locker room across the way.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the paper and know which way you guys lean. Kinda goes like it's the Bears and everyone else.
I listened to the first game between mt airy and east surry. Sounded to me like it took the Bears a last minute miracle drive to score and win. I dont believe for one minute east surry was "lucky" at all. Dishing out a 40-0 beatdown on the bears home field is impressive not lucky imo.

I am very appreciative of our regional paper the Elizabeth City Daily Advance. They do a good job of giving equal coverage to the Edenton Holmes Aces and the Elizabeth City Northeastern Eagles eventhough NE is the “hometown” school.
The daily advance does a great job of covering local teams. I have their website on speed dial whenever I want to know what you guys are up to. They also have highlight videos from your games. You usually don’t see that in a local newspaper.

Gdawg weakest western final ,that’s funny .Starmonut almost beat the Mt Airy to start the season ,then East just stomped the crap outta Mt Airy ,but now it’s weak ,that’s stupid ,no ignorant .
I think over the past 2 years or so MA has gotten more coverage from the MA News than the other local schools throughout the entire school year. Now to be fair, MA had a 2-time State Champion women’s basketball team, State Runner-up football team, and Western Finals Runner-up Men’s basketball team during that 2yr stretch. About 4-5 years ago ES was getting more coverage from the MA News than MA was...but during that time ES had State Runner-up teams in Volleyball, Soccer, and Baseball and a Football team that went undefeated until they lost to Walkertown in the 3rd Rd. Usually the news will give more coverage to the teams who are performing better. There was some questionable coverage during spring sports in the past year or two but overall they have covered things relatively equally.
Yes all they want to do is whine ,all we could beat is a 60 percent team,idiots lots of people think East beat them first time , a scooped pass was all that helped them win then lol! If I recall their superstar that scores 40 points was shut down in that game . What a joke these Mt Airy fans are .
Friend they may get beat next week who knows ,but I tell you this ,the kids will respect anyone who does beat them ,you won’t see this kinda excuses and crying .
There is no one crying Red Bird you guys won dude my spouse is a east fan and graduate there I guess you guys are mad because we got TV game with BM with all this media crying we have no control over that . Maybe when you receive that beating from Tarboro East will get one next year . The perfect game would be Reildsville in my opinion to do it

Bears were not 100 percent and played like crap with alot of penaltys and turnovers and ES played great. It's funny how fans on here thumping their chest when your teams got blowed out by both MA and es. I am for one sick of this site where men act like idiots and children over a dam HS football game and season. We should all be ashamed of how stupid we r acting including myself. Buzz you are right but I will tell you why we act this way it is a disease me and you both wore helmets there and ole man what it feels like on Friday in the Fall to walk in there once a Bear always a Bear we have pride that we will take to the grave and yea we expect to win and yea we will win again
