15 points? When was the last time you saw a team score 15? 5 fgs, 1 td plus 2 fgs plus a safety, 1 td with a point after kick and 1 td with a 2 pt conversion, 2 tds with failed extra points and 1 fg?

Oooof!

Perhaps foolishly, I'm holding out hope that Furrey can squeeze a little bit of success out of our O. Did I read that correctly.... We have a 25 ranking in that SP+ measure? Oh, if we could have only had an offense with a pulse this season....

It raises the question: Would you rather lose in a non-competitive game, or be in yet another losing situation where the defense plays more than well enough for us to win if we had even a semi-competent offense?

I guess it depends on whether or not you want Beamer back. An embarrassing blowout that looks like the team has quit on the season makes it hard for Beamer or Donati to put a good face on the game and say we are close to being good. A close loss and Beamer can point to all the good things and say he sees a lot of potential in the team and Donati can justify holding off on firing him.

Personally, I have always found it easier to take a blowout loss than a close loss. In a blowout, you tip your hat to the other team and acknowledge that they are just better than you. In a close loss, you look back and see many things that, if one of them had gone the other way, you would have won.

The Mizzou, LSU, Bama and Ole Miss games have been excruciating for that reason. All were there to be won with a semi-competent offense and we're sitting at 7-2. LSU, in particular...we had to try to lose that one.

With all due respect, I said the EXACT same thing when it projected Alabama to score 29 points. You can go back on this board and check the thread. How does a team even get to 29 and yet it hit it on the nose. So, never again will I question when it picks an odd-ball score....

Because it's a Friday...I checked. Six games this season have feature a team scoring exactly 15 points.

We are 11 weeks into the season and there are around 60 games per week in FBS, so in around 660 games, 15 points has been scored 6 times.

I wonder if Vegas lets people bet on the number of points a team scores and the bettor gets to pick the number and get odds? I bet you can get great odds betting a team scores 15 points.
