It does nothing to implicate Auburn. It just says that for Newton to come to State, according to Rogers, that we would have to pay.

there's a helluva lot of smoke, more everyday, but still nothing concrete to nail Auburn or Cecil.

I thought solicitations of $ or benefits on behalf of a player make that player ineligible? It seems between texts and voice mails, there would be enough for the NCAA to pull him...

The issue of the day is CN's eligibility. The NCAA interprets their eligibility rule [10.1] however the hell they want to. And they are on record through one representative saying that Cecil's pay to play demand to Bell, if true, results in Cam's ineligibility. That's why it's big.

At least that is how I understand it. There still hasn't really been anything that would mean sanctions for Auburn...UNLESS they continue to play him with knowledge he solicited money - then you would think that would be an independent violation. Of course, if the money trail from Auburn is discovered, they are fried, but we haven't reached that point yet.

I still say there is no way Auburn didn't pay him when he was ready to go to State, his dad was soliciting from State, Auburn wasn't even in his Top 3, then supposedly we tell him no thanks on the money and he immediately gets on board with Auburn.

and went to Auburn free for charity? And he states in interviews that he really wanted to go to MSU, but Reverend/Pimp Cecil said he was going to Auburn... Nobody can be dumb enough to not now know that AU forked over some nice monetary amounts, or should I say illegal gaming payments.

more evidence that Cecil/Rogers was shopping Cam. I think the Auburn implication will come through the whole Milton McGregor angle with the tapes that the FBI has. No proof there yet but the stars seem to be aligning with the TMZ article. Also, Kirk Herbstreit said to expect more breaking news either tonight or tomorrow.

But at the same time, my question is this:

OK, let's say I'm a major recruit and my Dad asks for money from MSU, but really honestly and truly does not ask for money from Alabama, and I go to Alabama. Am I still ineligible?

Or is this like Albert Means- a lot of schools were willing to pay money for him, but the only one that got into trouble was Alabama because he went to school there?

Nobody can be dumb enough to not now know that AU forked over some nice monetary amounts
but that fact has not been proven/linked yet. and until it does this thing could (but most likely won't) end with Cam being declared ineligible and Auburn only having to vacate their wins with nothing else happening to them. it would be the best case scenario for the overall reputation of the SEC and would only tarnish the Newton name. Auburn would be pissed of course and speculation would continue to fly around about their payment/non-payment to the mule.

/for me, i don't for a minute think that Newton played for free at Auburn out of spite from us not paying him but until there is proof he is paid we will have to wait. hopefully the FBI stuff will hit the fan soon.

Bell said he kept Rogers' text message on his old cell phone, which was
damaged by water, but he is currently trying to retrieve the text
message through his cell service provider.

Former cell phone guy here - nobody's provider stores text messages after they have been delivered to the phone.

Text-messaging scandal

Main article: Kilpatrick and Beatty text-messaging scandal

In January 2008, The Detroit Free Press
examined and revealed the existence of more than 14,000 text messages
exchanged between Kilpatrick and his chief of staff Christine Beatty on
their city issued SkyTel pagers between September 2002 – October 2002
and April 2003 – May 2003. The dates are of importance because they

the ouster of Gary Brown respectively.[51]

The rabbi is 100% right on this. With respect to Cam's eligibility, it is completely, totally, utterly and unequivocally irrelevant whether the Barners paid one red cent to Cecil "I Got a Strong Pimp Hand" Newton. Solicitation of money, regardless of actual payment, is a technical violation of the NCAA eligibility rules. Whether the NCAA choses to interpret or enforce said rule in this manner is yet to be seen.

Now, the pay-to-play franchise that Auburn has so red-neckedly orchestrated with rigged slot machines, fixed dog races, public corruption, arrogant, fat old white men, money funneled through Yellawood to some shady PAC in D-troit and routed to Cecil "I Got a Strong Pimp Hand" Newton to fix his tax shelter house of worship is only relevant for purposes of the potential anal *** raping that Auburn may face if that Grishman-esque novel on Tigerdroppings is 1/3 true.
