I don't think we will get a bowl bid. But what if we did, and then we somehow won it? Going from 2-10 to 5-7 to 6-7 would be tangible progress, I suppose. Lol.

Lets say all this plays out and UK is one of the 5 win teams selected and Shreveport becomes are most logical option.....

Last week it was stated on the pregame show that the SEC would avoid placing a 6 win UK in Shreveport due to the conflict with the basketball game.....does that still apply to a 5 win UK team?

Or more to the point, would this athletic administration (Barnhart) pass on the opportunity as to not have that conflict?

To me there is no conflict as the BB game is at noon and the FB game is just before 6 and those who go to the basketball games regularly wouldn't be the ones making any trip to Louisiana anyway.

Just food for thought.

Why is everyone mad about it? Quit looking at it so negatively. I don't understand this board about 80% of the time. It's like I took a wrong turn and ended up at a rival's message board. No wonder many people say we have such low football IQs.

"Deserve" a bowl? lol People on here are afraid their off season full of negativity may get upset. Too bad. 1 vote here for a damn bowl game if we get the shot.
Many on this board are football idiots and could give a rats *** about the football program. Pay them no mind.

If they've been practicing since August and still aren't able to do simple fundamental things what is 15 extra practices going to help? Come on. I thought part of the excitement of a bowl was rewarding yourself for actually having a decent season? Going to a bowl as a 5 win team with a losing record is an absolute disgrace and shouldn't be accepted, plain and simple. Do some of you honestly think a couple more weeks of practices are going to fix the deep-seeded problems that we've seen? We fell short of the goal that Stoops placed in front of ourselves before the season started. What is it teaching your players to reward them for failing miserably? Come on. For once in our football lives let's have some standards, my god. I can already see the memes popping up all over the Internet about going bowling as a 5 win team.

I thought no bowl would want us on 12-26 due to the UL-UK basketball game being on the same day.
Would hurt ticket sales.

Each school is responsible for purchasing / reselling "X" number of tickets, how many actually the university actually re-sells is irrelevant to the bowl as they already have their ticket money in the bank from the school.

So the basketball "shouldnt' really come into play.

Whats next, 4 wins gets you in a bowl, 3, even 2. Heck just open it up & guarantee everyone a bowl bid. Makes playing the regular season almost meaningless. jmo

All bowl games are pretty much meaningless except for the playoff games. Only 2 other bowls matter in my mind - the one in Hawaii and the other in the Bahamas.

Short of that, there must be some intrigue to make the game appealing.

Re-read that... I said "I" don't understand this board. That comment has nothing to do with "everyone" being upset at the possibility of a - longshot - bowl invite. Nice try at whatever you tried there...
you need to read your own posts

1. I think going to bowls with a 5-7 record is goofy...but if it's possible thru loopholes, etc..then UK should by all means do the bowl game.
2. 15 extra practices is for Drew Barker to connect better with Juice, Badet...I'd love to see more Bone and less Dorian Baker for my taste. It also is 15 practices for Tavin Richardson and Greenwood as well to get them ready to compete for roster spots on 2016. Also, extra reps for Nico Frios, Love, Jordan Jones, that will replace current Srs.

I wouldn't care much to watch UK stink up the joint again....but extra reps are better than sitting on the couch till January off season strength conditioning starts up.

Kentucky doesn't deserve crap. Plain and simple. Let some other team have it.
Besides you can give Kentucky a 17 point lead and they still find a way to choke. Oh wait they already did this......

I have a better idea - you quit reading them.
With the nonsense that you make...
You don't even know what you posted.
Putting you on "ignore" is a grand idea.
Take care and keep on deflecting your hyperboles

Just heard Matt Jones a few minutes ago say "breaking news: they are only going to take two 5-7 teams and base it on best APR", so that's not us.

Put Vandy and UK in together and call it the toilet bowl, because most fans of both teams, don't give a ****, since BB has started.

I know Matt Jones is a super football genius and all...

We're not in because we're not in the pool of eligible teams, but it's not cause they're only taking 2. They're taking at least 2, almost certainly 4 and quite possibly 5. Unless to save face the NCAA fixes all three 5-6 teams games this weekend to get them wins.. They're not above it. The 7 eligible teams are based on Being above the national average APR I believe.
