I know there was a post on this a couple weeks ago, but I went ahead and dropped Sling this morning and switched over. Already had the Disney/Hulu/ESPN plus bundle. It increased that rate to high $30s per month for a year then will be mid $40s but I was able to drop Sling, which was $55 or so. No issues with accessing anything after the switch

I dropped YouTubeTV and the Disney bundle off my Verizon account so I’m coming out ahead. Working good so far.

I've got Sling with sports and then Amazon Prime Video with the Paramout + subscription. If I could get FX on Prime (which right now you can't) I would drop Sling, but I want to continue watching Alien Earth. One thing I hate about Sling is the sheer number of ads you have to suffer through to watch TV shows.

Local TV channels with an antenna with Tablo. Shocked at how good it is. Better quality than cable and can record games. ESPN unlimited and that's really all I care to watch.

There are cheap Hulu deals out there that would get you the Alien show. I bundle Hulu with my Spotify premium which I don't think I could do without anymore for like $11.99.

The Spotify premium is great. Ad free on demand songs and free audiobooks make it worth it.

I'm not a student. I just got this AI summary:

A Hulu and Spotify bundle is no longer generally available for non-students and has been discontinued for the general public since 2023. However, the bundle is still available for eligible Spotify Premium Student subscribers in the US, offering both Spotify Premium and ad-supported Hulu access. If you previously had a non-student Hulu and Spotify bundle, you can continue to access Hulu through your Spotify account page until you switch plans or cancel, at which point you will lose access to Hulu

Gotcha. Guess I’m grandfathered in.

I tried Tablo a couple of years ago and it was unstable for me. Wouldn’t bring in all the sub channels and was very slow. But it’s a good concept. It’s probably better now.

4th gen Tablo is the one. Agreed that the ones before were junk

I have been reviewing the sling day pass for $4.99 which gives the opportunity to add SEC network for $1. So basically $6 for an all day Saturday pass to watch college games. At 4 games per month, that's $24 a month.
ESPN sued them yesterday over the day pass, said they didn't give them permission to do it with their product so I wouldn't get used to it because they (Sling)will probably lose this one

I've got the same but no Tablo, seldom if ever wish I could record but it's great for sending antenna channels through the house with wireless wifi instead of having to run coax to each tv. I do have Prime too.
Go check out a website called TV Garden and specify you want to view US channels. No cost to use and has hundreds of channels like ABC News, AccuWeather, Antenna TV, Bravo for the ladies, CBS News, Food Network, HGTV, MeTV, etc etc etc. I guess you could cast it to tv (never tried) but it's great for using with a tablet

Drop Sling and go with the Hulu/Disney/ESPN bundle if you just want to watch Alien Earth since it is on Hulu.
