42" TV it takes up the whole screen in full screen on laptop but not on TV. Maybe a 27" looking size on my 42" screen. Do I need to change a setting on my TV or screen resolution on my laptop?

I know some TVs have a picture setting you can change (Zoom, Partial Zoom, Normal, etc.). With my TV, its a button on the remote. Hope this helps.

You should have a setting for OUTPUT. You will have to set it to 16:9 ratio. It could be your computer or a setting on your tv for the input it that you are using on the back of your tv. You will just have to play with it and see.
