and takes some shots at State for not going all Sam Spade on his ***:

Mississippi State, which first phoned in the Cecil Newton allegation to the SEC office, has its whistleblower status. But if there was a race between a glacier and the Mississippi State in-house investigatory team, wouldn't you bet on the glacier to win?

The NCAA is pursing the Newton case with all the speed of a paraplegic snail, & this ******* is running glacier smack.

But the SEC's own protocol required Mississippi State to become CSI Starkville. The league junked its investigative department not long after Mike Slive was hired as SEC commissioner in 2002. How's that working out?

Why should we have to do anything other than report that something happened? The schools shouldn't be required to investigate - that should be the SEC's responsibility. If you want to file a report with police or even at work - you get interviewed... you don't write up your own personal report and send it in.

This wasn't an MSU rule violation. It was an NCAA matterand someone with the NCAA or SEC should have been investigating from the beginning rather than leaving it up to MSU to file a report. It's ridiculous that we get a black eye for taking 6 months to send information to the SEC. The SEC is the one that should get the black eye for not beginning an in depth investigation immediately.</p>

investigating rules violation for the SEC or NCAA. NOT. And as stated its not our job anyway. Early on we reported the basis of what happened as per the knowledge of our administrative staff and that's all we could do.

It's really stupid to think we say to the NCAA that someone tried to get paid.

They tell us to investigate further? Wha't to investigate?

It's just a tactic and it's working, which is really disappointing.
