I've heard it said a hundred times that Quay Evans and Nick James' problems are basically work ethic related. Do we really know this or is it just an assumption? Has Mullen or another coach said something to allude to this? It seems like we are kind of jumping to that conclusion. Isn't it possible that they just aren't developing for some other reason? It does happen to some players who have all the physical tools but just don't seem to catch up when moving up to the next level. HD6 was talking about it on B&B and it got me wondering.

How many 'motivational tactics' have we seen used on these two?

Sit out the Egg Bowl. Don't play in the NW game. Buried on the depth chart in the spring. Buried on the depth chart in fall ball. Lack of snaps in 2013, James redshirting.

They have to decide they want to be an SEC player. They haven't decided that yet.

Haven''t watched James much, But Evans just ain't that good.

He's a big strong guy, that is just not very agile.

Until he shows me more, he don't add much to the situation.

That's kinda what I mean though. Do we know that it's a lack of motivation? Or did they just peak early in their careers? I don't go to practices or talk to other players or coaches. Everyone seems to think its a motivation problem, but is there really any evidence of this?

Maybe I should make it an Ask Bob Carskaddon question, though I doubt bob would answer honestly if it truly is a laziness issue.

Both of them do not

have the mental ability to be superior football players. It won't be learned. Some have it. Some don't.

Only the state of MS could produce two 5 star dlinemen in the same year and neither of them pan out. It is still early though, and I will hold out hope a little longer.
