From Quay: “I’ll be having a press conference in the next few weeks to announce, when I was a freshman I committed to Mississippi but I changed my mind last year. But now I’m ready to get it done with. I’m kind of dreading the press conference. I don’t want all..."

“I really like coach Chris Wilson,” he said about the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator. “He’s like a magnet and I like how it never seems like he’s trying to sell me something. He’s the best.”

Another thing that Evans likes about Mississippi State is the opportunity. “I want to feel like I contributed to making a team better and helping them do something they’ve never won before,” he said. “I want to help them do something for the first time. All these other teams like Alabama and Ole Miss have been successful and have won. Mississippi State is getting better and still coming up and I want to help them win big.”

You got half ofthat right, Quay. Those are 2 teams that should not be in the same sentence when discussing football success.

We should learn a thing from last year and just enjoy the news if it's good and wait until signing day. No need to get too excited and no need to get all pessimistic and start rants about how we know kids will bail when someone else offers him a ride to a camp and gets lost trying to find Starkville.

Plus I can't take recruiting season 12 months of the year.

I know I know, but just to give you Yancy's take, he seems to think Evans is going to commit and decommit and re-commit and de-commit at least 3 or 4 times between now and signing day. Apparently he's one that likes the recruiting game, which means he'll be making our message boards over-react and throw out cheating accusations. Should be fun.

This is not the case at all.

As a Mississippi State fan, I would love for Quay to come to MSU. Good luck to him and whatever school he chooses. I wish him the best no matter what he decides.

On the other hand, if he wants a sure fire 5th star, he should commit to Alabama and make a signing day switch to Miss. State.
