Dan will probably want Diaz, Hevesy and Balis to come with him. The four of them gone would really gut our staff for a very important bowl game.

why would we want him coaching in the bowl game if he has already accepted another job?

Mullen is the kind of coach that will not abandon his players like that. Plus, I agree with Rick Cleveland's article on the topic, that UF has several other more qualified people they will probably look to before Mullen. While he will definitely be on the short list, he is not the top choice.

I think he's interviewing with Miami on this recruiting trip to florida. May even be talking to Jeremy Foley.

... until I am absolutely forced to do so.

It would be a great Christmas present if the Mullens decide to stay in Starkville now and for the foreseeable future.

I think he coaches the Gator Bowl and then comes back home to Mississippi State for a few more years. Wishful thinking - maybe. But, Mississippi State is a far better place to get four or five years head coaching experience than a program like Florida, with all its pressures, would be. Besides, being successful at Mississippi State showcases your abilities and skills much more than being successful at a program like Florida with all its money and top recruits. Dan Mullin will have many opportunities in the future to land a top spot at a major program. He doesn't have to rush it.
