If that works for you that's great! But for the real football schools, like Louisville claims to be, 5th place and consolation bowl would never be enough. I guess that's just the difference between that level of program and yours. Well, besides the strippers of course.

Other than Florida State, has Louisville beaten anyone worth mentioning this season?
I think it depends on how you justify anyone worth mentioning. Do you take the ranking at the time 2 teams played each other, which is probably a more accurate view of how teams are playing at a particular moment in time. Or do you look at where teams are ranked right now.

Case in point would be LSU. Beating LSU early in the season was much easier than now. They were in catastrophe mode. Now they can go toe to toe with Alabama. Would Miss St be within 3 points of them now. Doubt it. But that is who LSU was then.

If Louisville beats Houston Saturday, did they beat the Houston from the beginning of the year and ranked top 10 or the Houston now at around 26.

The stripper comment, I won't defend it because I can't. That whole thing is bad and nothing good can be said about it from the Louisville perspective other than thankfully it wasn't worse.

As for everything else you said, if that's supposed to be an insult, it wasn't a very good one.

It bothered you enough to reply to it....

There is a big difference in football tradition when you for example compare UofL to Bama. Bama has built their tradition over many decades so yeah what they will settle for and what UofL will settle for at this time are totally different.

What do you mean by thankfully the stripper thing wasnt worse??? Its far from over...havent even got your sanctions yet

It means exactly what it said: I am glad it wasn't worse. I can't defend this scandal and I won't, it's not defendable. Some things you just can't defend and I'm not going to be made to look a fool by trying.

The Ville has one of the best coaches around, saying that , they do no have the tradition like Bama, and the other big name FB schools..

I don't think anyone in their right mind is comparing you to Bama or any other consistently good program. Other than a few good years here and there your program hasn't accomplished much. You all are a long way from being the perennial football powerhouse your fan base tries to claim they are.

I said on this board and on the Louisville board....5th is very fair...can't put us above the Top 4 right now due to schedule
The tough part for you guys is they won't put you ahead of Clemson. While I believe you'd beat them if you played again, you won't jump them unless they lose.

I agree with 98% of your post except for the statement of UL being "very lucky" to have 2 elite QBs in a short time. When it comes to UL and especially Petrino I think we can retire the idea that UL is "lucky" to get good QBs or that typical UK statement "wait until (insert starting QBs name here) leaves then UL will suck". I've followed UL football for close to 25 years and in that time UL has had: Chris Redman (96-99), Dave Ragone (99-2002), Stefon Lefours (2001-04), Brian Brohm (2004-07), Teddy Bridgewater (2011-13, and Lamar Jackson. Basically aside from the Kragthorpe era and the start of the Petrino era UL has always had a good QB.
Actually, Show Cause Hurtt is who brought Teddy Bridgewater to Louisville, and without Lamar Thomas (UK's current WR coach), Louisville does not get Lamar Jackson! Had nothing with Bobby Petrino or Nick Petrino! Jackson's own high school coach said that Jackson is going wherever Thomas is coaching! If Thomas decides to coach at UK two years ago, who knows! Maybe Jackson is a Wildcat!

I wonder how good they feel about their playoff chances now? This very likely hurt their BCS bowl chances and even Jackson's Heisman. Great night not to be a Tard fan.

Jackson still wins the heisman and it's not even a contest. dudes 1/50 to win it

Depends.. he has to look really good next week because he doesn't have an extra game like other hopefuls from conferences that have championships will. Another performance like this week and see one of the other contenders show up big next week and in a conference champ game and it could get close. Not saying he isn't still the front runner, but a lot can still happen. He looked very mediocre tonight.

Didn't hurt our Orange Bowl chances at all since we still have a better record than anyone else in the conference besides Clemson.

You guys know nothing about college football, they were never close to a top 10 team much less a top 4.

Well you still have a game next week. Play anything like you did tonight and it could be another loss. Not likely but could happen but that would drop you even with FSU and they would be ranked higher than you after that. However, Clemson could still lose as well, which will kill their playoff chances but likely still keeps them ahead of you for the BCS bowl. Crazier things have happened.

It didn't last night, however, UK fans need to stop gloating! We need to stop acting like inmature school kids, stop trash talking, and resolve to show-up in force this Saturday, as we did in our "Blue-Out Game" and send our seniors out in style by demonstrating our appreciation for all their sacrificies!

What? UL fans still gloat and trash us for losing to Wisconsin in basketball 2 years ago. And you want us to stop basking in the glory of their shattered dreams? Get with the program. This is a rivalry and we can trash talk and enjoy Houston's win ....and SHOW up Saturday and enjoy us getting bowl eligible! We're functioning human beings........ we are well capable of both.

He's looked very mediocre the past 2 games. But he's still had over 300 yards total in both of them. He has 47 tds this season. You could give another team 3 more games and they stil wouldn't catch him. Dudes a monster

UL's tradition is playing in crappy conferences and taking chances on degenerate players and coaches. The ACC was a slight step up from the BE, but not much of one.
