Has offers from USC, VT and a few others. Hopefully that means something.

Some height. I like.

Wasn't the knock against Ray he wouldn't be able to pull in AAU kids? We didn't have to beat Duke out for him, but if Ray can grab 3 star 7'ers and other similar players quick like this I don't think we'll finish last in the SEC for the next 5 years like some of you think.

Pretty good pick up IMO. Won't satisfy the stargazers, but we didn't have many other options with this kind of size, and we need help in that position. Won't likely be a gamechanger, but he definitely plugs another hole in the roster. Should def be an upgrade from Lewis(in his scholarship, no less)...

I may be unfairly stereotyping here, but this one seems to have "project" written all over it. With our current lack of size, he's certainly worth a shot though.

It was painful. I hope Riek is doing well somewhere. God knows he had lived more life experiences before he got to college than most; but, a Division I basketball player he was not.

Speaking of Lewis, IMO he was the primary reason we lost to Troy. He's one of only 2 players we have with any experience (among the 7 scholarship players we had available for that game) and he comes out and gets himself into stupid foul trouble to where he only plays 16 minutes and gets like 3 points and 2 rebounds. Pathetic.

With gtown - genuine.

This is my favorite Manute Bol picture. It was in a SI article a long time ago and I always remember it. Looks like a big turd floating in a bathtub.

Agreed with all this.

He's on a fast track to losing his job to Gavin Ware...if he hasn't already. Will be back in his old role in no time at this rate...

That got a huge chuckle

ETA: Thanks for the edit, DS...not sure what I did wrong that time.

Hell

he had a tough enough time just walking. I was leaving the Sanderson one day and watched him walk across the parking lot. I swear it took him 10 minutes to go 10-15 yards.

Findlay has 4-5 players in the top 100 every year...

it seems. If we can get a committ from there every year would be huge. Oak Hill, Hargrave and Findlay Prep produce about 10% of the basketball elite talent every year.

It was rumored that when Riek arrived, he did not know whether he was right handed or a south pawl. When he would shoot a free throw, you could tell he had to think about it. Riek was the closest thing to a safari that I will ever witness. Watching him run up and down the court resembles the first few steps of a baby Giraffe.

Damn, everytime I saw Riek run (?) down the court I thought his knee caps would fly off and he would be just a big pile on the floor. We all appreciated his effort but that boy didn't belong on the court.
