With Croom now as the running backs coach in St. Louis, does this make you hesitate to draft Steven Jackson on your fantasy team?

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I like Jackson's potential, and if his off-season training is any indication, he should stay healthier this season. Croom's tenure in Starkville might scare people looking to take Jackson with their first pick, but his work as a running backs coach in the NFL has actually been productive.

When you look at his previous six seasons at that coaching position (Green Bay 2001-03, San Diego 1994-96) his numbers are good. Five of those six season he coached a running back that finished in the Top 8 in rushing yards. He might've had nothing to do with their success, but the numbers are there to feel good about drafting Steven Jackson in reference to Croom being in St. Louis. Regardless, #39 will be the centerpiece of the Rams offense and is running behind an improved offensive line.

I'm thinking about taking him at pick four in my draft. Might be a little high, but I think he'll be the stud he was a few years ago in 2009.
