Favorite MSU QB urban legends?

I saw one on 247 where someone was hypothisizing that Les Koenning was setting Relf up to fail on purpose because he liked Tyler better, so LEs made crappy calls intentionally when Relf was in the game.

That's right up there with "Rockey was really the one calling the plays" - which is my personal favorite and would rear it's ugly head after every rare good offensive performance during the Croom era.

Then there is the Derrick Taite/Eric Moulds Peach Bowl love triangle that resulted in Taite not throwing to Moulds the entire game- sadly, this one was true.

And then there are the old standards- "The team really thinks (insert name of back-up QB here) should be the one starting and have been begging the coaches to make a change for awhile now". "(Insert name of back-up QB here) is the real deal- he has "IT". "(Insert name of back-up QB here) reminds me of a smaller version of Brett Favre". and "Tray Rutland? We're royally rule 17!"

or Wes Carroll was supposed to be awesome just because he was the first MSU QB who hailed from the state of Florida,
or Michael Henig was NOT a *****,
or Wayne Madkin can read defenses,
or Joe Judge can come off the bench and beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa,
or...(insert wild, kool-aid, grandiose vision from Swan Lake here).

A typical Dylan Favre thread will include:

At least one mention of Drew Brees- who I don't consider undersized, Doug Flutie, and Todd Reesing.

Be at least two pages long.

Someone trying to call me out about his size even when I have said nothing about his size.

Someone trying to call me out challenging whether I have ever seen him play in high school before- and sometimes even after I have said that I have seen him play in high school.

Mike "The Polish Rifle" Pizinski. He was talked up by Jackie the week before the Alabama game because our QB was injured. Jackie had no intention of ever playing him.

He is too 17'n short!!!!......We saw him at Georgia he looked like a 15 year kid had slipped in, put a uniform on and somehow got into the game. Not only the stature but the overall..."Chicken with a head cut off" demeanor. The kid does have heart but for God's sakes... heart just don't win games....I don't care how many times you watch Rudy.......I know you "Favre" lovers are hoping this is the second coming of your sports idol but he is not....He may can run, throw....yada yada yada....but once he gets hit....and he would....he would suffer massive injuries......We have been through this before....When will you ever learn? The WAC....yea...CUSA...maybe.... but not the SEC....

Also, did you see him play in high school??? Yea, didn't think so. Dude was a BEAST in high school. You wouldn't know anything unless you saw him play in high school.**

You're the scout team QB, the team has a bunch of injuries at QB, so Jackie decides to use you as a decoy, beginning an urban legend.

I'm not a Favre naysayer, but talking about HS wins isn't the best was to win an argument. Or height for that matter.

The Drew Brees comparison is stupid. He is truely 6' without cleats and his throwing motion makes him at least 6'2''. He's like the statue of liberty.

They had to get him out of jail Saturday Morning for the game.

I also know he wrecked his Corvette by hitting a Cow.

Another one is he keyed a cop car and peed in it after a party was broken up by the Police. (Happened to be my party and they confiscated the kegs because of that. I had broken even until I lost the deposit money.)

1992 season. Hell, we were a pretty good team with Greg Plump. That year began Jackie's inexplicable ability to lose to crappy LSU teams (and that was the worst LSU team in history at 2-9). A healthy Sleepy gives us a good chance to beat Carolina, OM, and Bama. OM and MSU had two of the best teams in the SEC that year.

he was the savior but never got to play. Then the rumor was a race deal got started, and the black players wouldn't play for him. They wanted Plump to start and then in '93, when Jordan did start, everybody wanted Taite. Or something like that. But I remember him hooking up with Eric Moulds for some amazing catches. Too bad we went 3-6-2 and tied effing Arkansas State.

us down the field after Plump went out with an injury (who can forget the stand the Rebs made). Anyway Jordan leads us inside the 10 then JWS gets bright *** idea to put Plump back in the game for last couple plays.Made no sense then and makes no sense today. For all the good Jackie did, handling QB's was not his strong suit.

Seriously. Hard to say we would have won it since Bama won the national title that year though. But with Sleepy, we had a damn good team.
