1st,get over yourself pukie! Grayson might reach those guys in hate, but he never will in accomplishment or talent! Don't recall every saying Grayson wasn't athletic. Never said anything negative about that punk red dick's talent either. Admittedly, I was never impressed with Mr. Scheyer (effective due to system), but opinions differ. But if you suppose that ratty is such a judge of talent and such a great developer, then, either he didn't think the boy could play or GA totally regressed while at puke. I saw him play about 15 minutes of good bball, but I didn't see enough to hype him as much as he has been. AND I am a huge puke hater!

The post by this guy is pure gold. I love it. I am tempted to go over and compliment him on this post. I have no idea what language he was speaking in (maybe that is what they teach the athletes over there at UNC-CH as a second language) but what I can make out of it, is funny!Got a live one!

And it won't change any time soon!Sick & tired of losing to Duke on the floor & in recruiting.
They're downright desperate at this point. There are absolutely no signs indicating the things will get better for UNC either. They have a lot of false hope surrounding this season. Sorry if I'm not impressed with a team that returns a bunch of roll players from a 12 loss team. FF expectations are unreasonable for this UNC squad.Work with quite a few UNC alums and Duke's is success really getting to them. Heard a couple of them comment "Sick & tired of losing to Duke on the floor & in recruiting. Watching them win titles while Roy can't get us to FF make me sick". The level of anxiety is pretty bad as these guys really love UNC hoops.
I dont think they're necessarily unreasonable. The entire field of CBB is down from last year- there is probably a group of 15-18 teams that could realistically make the FF this year. There's no one team or group of 3-4 teams that are going to be on another tier from everyone else like last year. So to me it's not unreasonable. They're downright desperate at this point. Timo, im not saying that they can't make it, but with the group that they have I think its unreasonable to expect them to make it. Everyone kinda had Duke, UK and Wiskey there last year. I don't see Carolina being considered that type of team.I dont think they're necessarily unreasonable. Having said that- here's the thing that i know. there is a TON of pressure on them to produce this year. b/c if the DO NOT, then the future does not look real promising in Chapel Hill. Their recruiting is mediocre by the top tier standards, they lose a ton of experience and talent this year, and the cupboard is not exactly stocked. So again, they better win this year.
its called desperationI went over there for a little humorous Gary viewing. That guy just cracks me up - has to be the most naive poster on any site, completely clueless. He called K's system "watered down" in comparison to Roy's (let that wash over you for a moment), and also made comments about Tyus Jones "struggling mightily" (that's a direct quote). I literally watched every second of every single Duke game the entire year, and I don't seem to remember those struggles. I just can't fathom being that ridiculous.
right, i agree that they're not that type of team, i'm just saying i dont think anyone has that type of team this year, which makes it anyone's guess of the top 15-18 teams.Timo, im not saying that they can't make it, but with the group that they have I think its unreasonable to expect them to make it. The point never was that Britt is an amazing player. In fact, if you read the post that he referred to. I was saying that I would take a senior Joel Berry over a freshman Dennis Smith Jr. that is coming off an ACL injury. I then cited Britt's injury and how drastically he fell from once being considered the top PG in his class to (granted that was very early in the rankings - Soph year I believe) into what he is now.So you said "you're pretty sure" Britt was the #1 rated PG before his injury...if this is really true, then why doesn't he play like a top PG? He should be fully healed from his High School injury.
About the only thing he does well is shoot Free Throws. Again, he doesn't play like a #1 ranked PG. I think the eye test says you're full of it.
Carolina fans like yourself, are suffering from some serious delusions. Dennis smith is a game changer, Berry is a mid level acc point guard. Like the rest of UNC roster, he's a blender... A role player who won't ever be a game changerThe point never was that Britt is an amazing player. In fact, if you read the post that he referred to. I think Britt is a decent backup. I do not think he is starter level.
Anyone who read my initial post would realize that.
The ironic thing is, did Tyus not take over both games against UNC? He's practically the reason we won the first one, and he followed that up with a 20-pointer in the Dean Dome. If that's struggling, I'll take that over however you choose to describe Joel Berry's freshman year.Tyus struggled 'mightily'? Hahahahahaha...there must have been another Tyus Jones he was watching, 'cause I don't remember all those troubles. He had some games where he didn't shoot that well, but even in those he controlled the game, and the pace while racking up assists. And even early (in the bigger games) such as Michigan & Wisconsin he showed his ability to take over a game if needed.
Tyus Jones was/is special, and I remember all of us Dukies knew it from the beginning. He wasn't perfect, but he was a 'stones' cold killer, and anyone other than a fool looking through baby blue glasses could recognize it.
OFC
This can't be real..I just saw these 2 gems from ACokeForRoy: "We should be 21-0 when we face Louisville on Feb 1st" and "25-0 by the time the Dook comes to town"
If I hadn't seen it for myself I would think the same thing. It's under the thread "15-16 schedule is out".This can't be real..
Agree to disagree. We will see when our games come up. I think Berry is going to be great this year.Carolina fans like yourself, are suffering from some serious delusions. I looked him up he had like 30 teams on his list mostly non basketball schools outside of Kansas with Alabama being the closest threat lol. Then again when the last player u brought in was Maye this is prob a reason to celebrateLook out, Carolina landed Tony Bradley, who apparently is the next Tim Duncan. I've never heard of the guy but they are rejoicing like they signed the #1 recruit, and saying not everyone wants to play for Coach K. That's probably cause he wasn't offered. Hope they enjoy the crumbs
Bingo- if he backtracks any faster he'll go into last week. He specifically said Britt was the top PG in his class before his injury- how that happens and then you're the 90th ranked player in his class is insane. Equally insane is saying you want Joel Berry as a Sr over DSJ- really? All I was commenting on was you saying Britt was the top ranked player as his position...then his injury made him just a decent back up.
There is no way Britt went from top ranked PG to decent back up simply because of his injury. I think you should stop saying you think Britt was the top PG before his injury...anyone with a memory and sight can see there is no way someone ranked him as the top PG before his injury.
He's always was and continues to be a clown!Cory referencing Lance Thomas and the AFAM scandal:
"Right. I agree. Perhaps UNC should have done the same thing they did and just told the NCAA to piss off. If Duke did what UNC has done they would have investigated themselves for 5 years and spent millions of dollars to find out exactly what went down. They obviously didn't want to do that. I don't really blame them."
Pretty sad to see someone who used to be respected by most become as terrible as the rest of the posters at THR. His recent comments on the national board only support my last statement.

Now having said all that- I am in the camp that thinks Berry is going to be pretty damn good. I think Roy should have played him more last year- glad he didn't. I think Berry is an All-ACC type player by the time his career at UNC is over. Might be in the minority but thats my thought on his game. He should start and be the playmaker with Paige at the 2.

Mark I directly asked Cory on the national board to address why Dean had more players in the sham AFAM studies courses than any other UNC coach. To date he has not responded. That pos is the instigator for all the cheating that went on at UNC ,while spreading the Carolina Way bs. Again he was a total POSCory referencing Lance Thomas and the AFAM scandal:

I give you credit. When ever see DSouth is the author of something, I take the 15 minutes to scroll past his long winded post instead of reading the drivelDsouth with some fantastic lies-
When either Giles or Bam would be freshmen, we would have BOTH Meeks and Bradley as our centers, duke would have who, the kid that committed to them a couple months ago? You want to play the 4 and not the 5 and UNC has 2 solid guys to handle the 5 in your one and only frosh season while duke only has the one kid that may not even start and a well respected 4 that transferred to them (eligible this season). Brice graduating Mr Giles, think maybe you can beat out Hicks for that starting power forward role, you know that would be expected. DSJ isn't going to duke, they have Jackson now and Jackson is going on a Morman Mission, will that be in your one & only season at that school, will Thorton be gone to the NBA by the time you get there, you could be stranded playing the center on a team with no PG? That is a lot to risk for what you want Mr Giles and you don't really think UNC is going get a post season ban no matter how many times other coaches may hint about it, they wil say anything to get you yet UNC has now a wide open opportunity for ya! You better take it before Bam does cause Bam will know he has that same op you have.
I pointed out piece by piece how wrong he is. Most likely getting banned:
In order of the bolded statements.
1. Jeter, Obi and Bolden (likely but not definite) will be there to man the 5. Jeter most likely starting- he was a 5 star after all. Plus as you have suggested on many other threads- be the player you are don't worry about if you're a 1 or a 2 or a 4 or a 5.
2. Correct
3. Wrong. Flat out- he will not be taking a mormon mission and will be there.
4. Not likely- plan is DT being their 2 years- even if he's not Jackson plays Point.
5. Wrong.
How can you post something so painfully long and not getting anything remotely correct? What world do they live in?Dsouth with some fantastic lies-
