Comment of the year at THR, absolutely love this (for real)

Some guy named hark the sound:
"I also don't have the slightest bit of inside info as to what Rawle would be thinking. But judging by the guys' on here who are saying its not happening recent track record of correctly picking recruits, I like our chances, lol."

has this one been posted by the legend that is Keyser? I dont even have anything to add, just enjoy the fireworks:

"K has developed over many years a SYSTEM to get a #1 seed Goes like this... pad your schedule with cupcakes at Derm, Army, Buffalo etc. Then make SURE you do NOT play ANY true road games vs non conference teams. This is CRITICAL Hence the Meadowlands MSG, United center etc are the "road" venues for dook .

Sleazebag has consistently avoided the on campus roadie because he KNOWS his teams stand a MUCH better chance of LOSING the game .... nothing can jeopardize that one seed .....usually the EASIEST of the 4 seeds in the NCAA

Throw in the usual "clock issues" at that hell hole of an arena ... funny how they ALWAYS seem to help dook , as well as the usual ref baiting and abundance of highly favorable calls that has an entire NATION sick of the never ending benefits that dook has gotten over the years from the Zebras, and POOF the system has worked like a charm for thirty plus years.

That SYSTEM goes down the drain when Vader leaves. The next coach... GOD please let it be Caple or Collins or Amaker etc... simply will have NONE of that to tap into and it will take years to develop the intimidation factor that doochies routinely enjoy from the Zebras."

I don't know how anyone could argue with any of this.

I just went over and perused the last 2/3 pages of the 2016 recruiting thread over there. It's pretty great. They are at each others' throats.

I really enjoyed the LNWR thread where Gary tries to convince everyone that Stillman White will be incredible.

That is great and true all at the same time. The "insiders" (not one of those people predicting anything have a single clue. If they were getting their info from a guy like Clint Jackson, I would take it seriously but they are not)) should start predicting others to land everyone and maybe that'll get them some cred back with their own peeps.

This was also my favorite. Of course, Gary backs this all up with how mature Stilman is. I will go on record right now and say that if Stilman White plays as much as Gary thinks he should, the Heels will have a tough season.

Unfortunately with Gary's track record of being right, he won't be playing.

This thread JCHammok started on roy's comments on OAD should be priceless. let the backtracking begin:

Bur Heel:
Whoever said Roy doesn't recruit oad's?....if anyone here keeps up with recruiting year after year, then you know Roy has always recruited oad's..yeah most end up going elsewhere but, they don't just get recruited..they get offers!!..JC,you're just repeating things that 99% of us who follow recruiting closely already knows!!..what's your point?

Good lord, DSouth:

"Had we got O[k]afor would he have started over Meeks, hard to say, personally I would suggest no"
I think dsouthr is just punking us now. That has to be the only reason for that type of nonsense. I wonder if he watched Meeks against Oak one on one last season?

Agree- maybe i'm giving him too much credit here but he's absolutely trolling with that comment.

Nobody is really that stupid. He has to be punking boogie right now. It's one of the more ridiculous things he's ever said....and we're talking about DSouthr here. He's where stupid comments go to breed.

I believe his statement was sincere as he thinks any Tar Hole would start over any Blue Devil, probably even Stillman White over Quinn Cook. His mother should have had him tested for stupidity and then committed.

Another gem from DSouthr. This one has to do with the ESPN 100 list of players. I get him saying that Berry and maybe Hicks should be on the list, but then he adds a name after that...

"There are not 100 players better than Berry, Hicks, and if he builds on the way he ended last season I would maybe have to add Joel James to that list."

I really hope James plays a lot. Imagine if DSouthr and Gary-7 were the UNC coaches, James and Stilman White would be in the lineup a lot.

You almost have to appreciate how big of homers they are. It's one thing to be a homer and than it's another to just be a completely blind, oblivious to anything else type of homer and that's what a lot of the THR guys are. It's only 100 players. There are nearly 1500 players that are starting for D1 clubs. And that just includes STARTING, not even bench players. This list is really really difficult to come up with. But the thing you'd have to ask yourself to be fair, is would this player start on the majority of the top 50 teams in the country as they stand now. And the answer isn't overwhelmingly yes, than you can make a very reasonable case that they should not be included in the Top 100. And that is the case with Joel James.

Hicks has proven absolutely nothing since being at UNC, to think he belongs there to me is moronic. Berry i think you can make a case for, he in my opinion is going to be a very good player- and if you say well he hasn't proven anything either- i think that's a different circumstance- last year he had some injuries and other guys in his spot. This year he's getting the keys. Hicks has been in the program a full two years now and has shown nothing.

I almost had to laugh when I read this over at THR. Only DSouthr would whine about 3 UNC players not being included in the top 100 players list when they had 5 players included in the top 100 list.

This is pretty golden from TPFKAPFS
"I did the same thing at HIS. I got tix to a UNC/Puke game and sat in the Iron Pukes section. I wore a grey sweatshirt over my Tar Heel gear and took it off after tip-off. UNC came from behind to win and I cheered during the whole run. End result: My Dad lost a 20 year friend and the guy lost his season tickets! Some fan bases are really insecure."

Let me get this straight. Some fan bases are insecure? I can go with that one all day- how about Roy, your HEAD COACH, kicking out a fan of the opposing team- having him ESCORTED out of the section because he was cheering for his team over the heels in the rows behind their bench. Yeah, we're insecure.

I am going to call BS on this persons story. Just seems like something that can't be substantiated so why not go ahead and try and make another program look bad. Mostly to deflect from their own transgressions.

It could be bull but I can see a Tar Heel fan doing it' I feel if it did happen the crazies made him uncomfortable. I can't even a Duke fan or any other fan doing that in the dome. Just unclassy. OFC

I saw this from Chapelheeled in regards to Giles injury: "Giles could come back and break a bone in either foot for all any of us know at this point. My point is I would limit those chances until he is auditioning in front of NBA scouts. One year in college, at less than 100%, could indeed make him a second round pick if he injures anything at all (imo). Reduce the risks and more importantly, give Giles body a rest. HE WILL THEN GO TOP 1-5 NEXT SPRING W/O ANY MORE INJURY CONCERNS FROM COMPETITION (JMHO)

I capitalized the part that made me shake my head because I couldn't get it to let me put it in bold lol. Correct me if I'm wrong but won't Giles still be in high school next spring or just graduated from high school? So if he's still going to be in high school or just graduated from high school then how could he go top 1-5 in the draft next spring considering a player can only enter the draft if they're 19 years old and/or been out of high school for one year?

Well you're reaching there. Next spring I can get if he's saying next basketball season since we are basically into this one now.

What I would have bolded is him saying that Giles could go in the second round and bringing up breaking a bone in his foot for some odd reason? It's his knee- he's never (knock on wood) had problems in his feet which is a completely different story. But whatever, guys a moron- "imo, jmho"

That would be one of the best things that could happen for the UNC program. I wonder if Giles had already committed to UNC if this THR BB guru would have the same post. NOT. OFC

The people advising Giles to sit out next year and NOT play college ball are only saying that for one reason. And that reason isn't because they care about his well being. They just don't want him playing at Duke. They'd be singing an entirely different tune if UNC was his college choice.

stating the obvious DJ- they're a special special group. It always surprises me how much they "care about the well being" when it supports what they want.

That comment was beyond idiotic. James shouldn't play a minute for UNC to be honest. Stillman either. lol
