Indeed, especially considering his vanishing act in the Finals.^ Yeah, it might not be a huge badge of honor that a guy on a team that won 73 games hit a buzzer-beater to beat a team that lost 72 games.

I'm not the one making the subjective claim. Nor am I searching for the evidence you claim exists. If you don't want to produce actual evidence to support your opinion, then you shouldn't be shocked when people are skeptical.
I
I'm not going to speculate about a decision I know nothing about. Not to mention, doesn't asking someone, who isn't a D1/Olympic coach, to speculate about a coaching decision by a D1/Olympic coach run counter to the argument you were making the other day when you said none of us could criticize Roy because we aren't coaches?
Poor defense, poor shooting, and foul trouble. Not to mention, Australia's physicality was problematic at times.

Thanks.
. @dukiejay has already pointed that out in this thread.
Yeah, you can see how little attention I'm paying to this. I doubt I'll watch a single minute of Team USA play or more than 30 total minutes of the Olympics. The games don't suit my schedule. In the summer, I have too much other stuff to do in the evenings and on the weekends than to be inside watching TV. Which reminds me, I'm leaving in the next hour to be on the river this weekend. So feel free to rip this poast (and me in general) to pieces. I won't be around until Sunday for a retort.
I...why do you think K selected a guy (that supposedly "did him wrong" during his college recruitment) if he knows he won't play very much to be on a team that has an abundance of wings? Just because?
Look, you can believe Barnes is clutch. But absent evidence indicating he is in fact clutch, it's just your opinion. Why should I track down your "evidence" when you're the one making an assertion that is quite the stretch?I'm not at all shocked. In fact, I expected it. You should probably be expecting me to say that I don't give a sh*t what you're skeptical about. You can look and find those links or not. It won't mean a thing to me either way.
Wonderful deflection. You chastise posters over here for criticizing Roy because they aren't coaches. Then you claim to know why Barnes was chosen for Team USA without any actual proof to justify your belief. You subsequently get called out for stating an unsupported opinion before telling me to speculate about Coach K's decision. I guess your "logic" only applies when it supports your opinion. Very telling.Your not knowing anything doesn't stop you from speculating on Roy's coaching decisions. Why stop now?
Not nearly long enough for your stench to vanish.I won't be around until Sunday for a retort.
What? I had no idea our basketball team even played yesterday (I've watched less than 5 minutes of the Olympics) but to hear we struggled in our first game is a bit concerning. Who did we play and why did we struggle?
As far as Barnes goes, to say he's not clutch is an inaccurate statement. It would be more accurate to say he wasn't clutch in the 2016 NBA finals. Before that series, he had a reputation of playing his best ball in big games (and his playoff numbers are slightly up from his reg season numbers). But he's the new guy on the team and I'm sure he understands that he wasn't going to get a ton of minutes. I think it speaks to Barnes as a person that the team wanted him even knowing he wouldn't play very much. They wanted him from a character/representative standpoint. I'm sure he's thrilled to be there.
Good luck to team USA.
So mods, this guy is still posting here for what reason?I'm not at all shocked. In fact, I expected it. You should probably be expecting me to say that I don't give a sh*t what you're skeptical about. You can look and find those links or not. It won't mean a thing to me either way.

You are describing the atypical uncheat poster. Hypocrites of the highest and utmost regard for each other.Wonderful deflection. @RP12 on why Barnes didn't play last night:
K doesn't exactly have a great track record of using and developing his bench, so...
I love when they rationalize things. Too bad the all-time winningest coach with 5 national titles and 2 gold medals doesn't know how to use/develop his bench.
I just don't understand who they think Barnes deserves minutes ahead of, especially in a close game like last night. Which all-star (and every single one of them is an all-star besides Barnes) do they want him to replace?Haha, I didn't know his job as Olympic Coach was to develop NBA players. Isn't having a well developed game kind of a requisite for being on the team?
See my previous thread re Carolina Myth.Dion Beatha was BriceLove when gary and the boys take this angle.
Two game winners against two of the worst teams in the league is hardly enough of a sample size to prove someone is clutch.
#thrlogic
That reasoning is the equivalent of me saying Marshall Plumlee is an outstanding 3-point shooter and using this as proof:
Do you realize your post history is easily searchable? Might want to consider that before making statements like this.I have too much other stuff to do in the evenings and on the weekends than to be inside watching TV
I ask this same question every single season when Duke fans ask why certain guys are not getting minutes. I imagine we'll get plenty of those questions this year. I guess that's a great problem to have, ha.I ask this same question every single season when Duke fans ask why certain guys are not getting minutes. Who would you suggest they play ahead of...

From Ned Cota in a thread over at THR titled "Please tell me!!!!" about why Harrison Barnes hasn't been getting much playing time in the 2016 Olympics.
"He's better than Christian Laettner."

In his dreams...maybe. Christian Laettner was one of the greatest college players of all time, and had a superb career going in the NBA until he tore an Achilles tendon. Even after the injury he still managed to have some pretty good years.

This is a hall of famer@Ned Cota laying more "knowledge" on all of us about Barnes and how Coach K is ruining Team USA:
It kinda does have a little to do with K being a rat, if in his newest iteRATion it means catering to ISO NBA style (the opposite of intl and GS style team ball). Barnes was added because he plays a good team game and fit in behind superstars like Curry, Thompson, and Green. Why not use him similarly on another star studded USA team? Because he doesn't want to piss of any super duper stars and hurt his brand with OADs. Farfetched? Maybe. But a better coach would play HB. K won't because he's a rat.
And they wonder why we think they're all idiots...
But a better coach would play HB.

This doesn't really have anything to do with college basketball, but it still cracked me up:
@Hark_The_Sound_2010: I'm a fan of pretty much everything at Bojangles except for the chicken.
