Where are all the teams that were going to pick BGM up, like some here were touting.
I see the “fraud” quote at the end of Madden’s article today. Was on the CBS news stations. Madden describes Tomlin as a fraud in the Tribune Review. Along with a bunch of other failures of BGM.
He resigned on his own. Was never told he was going to be fired. You are responding to a moron who posted in a thread that Tomlin should be taken to the roof of the tallest building in Pittsburgh and tossed off of it. Tom M. Had to delete the thread. This moron then changed his handle…I see the “fraud” quote at the end of Madden’s article today.
Nothing about him being told he needed to resign or he’d be fired though. Odd since Madden had plenty of negative things to say…

Most of the Steelers supporters wanted him gone. That's not revelling, it's people sick of his dismal performance. The whole concept of reveling in a coach firing or a coach resigning...speaks volumes about anonymous internet and a portion of the participants. How does celebrating someone's firing make another person feel good? I mean really, how does it actually make someone gleeful and able to comment gleefully?
I no get it.

Tomlin was not or is not a fraud. He is a solid (not great) coach and probably will be in the HOF. Although, I think that is more for his longevity and ability to never have a losing season than having top end success. I don't like all the media glorifying him like he is Don Shula or Bill Belichik.
He needed to go at least 5 years ago if not 8-10 years ago. There were certainly seasons where the Stillers underachieved and his roster management was a case study on what not to do.
Just like we are all sick of your posts jumboMost of the Steelers supporters wanted him gone. That's not revelling, it's people sick of his dismal performance.
Add to that Herbert was drafted 6 overall and the Steelers pick that was traded for Fitzpatrick was 18. So yeah that was a terrible miss.2020 draft trade for Minkah was ok, plus they were able to trade Claypool for JPJ and got Highsmith. The 21 and 22 drafts were TERRIBLE. Muth is the only one left from either. Those should be 4-5 year players working towards their second contract, the main cogs of good teams. Guys still on rookie deals who may or not be stars but starters. The 24 draft got them 3 starting OL and a solid LB. 23 was solid outside of 1st rounder Jones, so there are good young guys to build with but need a QB, at least one WR and a new OC.
I love that you are using Madden to justify anything. Mr. hot take himself. He is what is wrong with journalism these days. The Rooney clan and their stubborn stupidity was also mentioned by Madden and others.

Madden is a buffoon and that is the nicest thing I can say about him.I see the “fraud” quote at the end of Madden’s article today.

Tomlin left on his own accord… period!I love that you are using Madden to justify anything. Mr. hot take himself. He is what is wrong with journalism these days.
And the fact that a certain moron on this site likes him tell you all you need to know!Madden is a buffoon and that is the nicest thing I can say about him.
Yes, but he nailed Tomlin and the Rooney clanMadden is a buffoon and that is the nicest thing I can say about him.

You know who you're talking to right? He never stops, he doesn't live in reality.Stop
It's very possible that he was told if he didn't quit he'd be fired but that's not what is being reported
Good point. I tried lolYou know who you're talking to right? He never stops, he doesn't live in reality.
He is a true lunatic. Btw… you are correct about that other site. Just more proof how disturbed he really isYou know who you're talking to right? He never stops, he doesn't live in reality.
Crazy to think he's allowed in public. He's softer than the poop he's obsessed with though lol. Grandpa acts like a tough guy, bullies people, calls people names, stalks and harasses people but cries like a lil old lady when someone stands up to him. He's pathetic. He is a true lunatic. Btw… you are correct about that other site. Just more proof how disturbed he really is
lol--he could have any job he wanted if he wanted oneTomlin says he won't be coaching this year. No kidding.
Just poor ownership. Letting the CEO make lousy decisions and no accountability. Not stepping in to take any action as they watch the organization decline. The Rooney clan and their stubborn stupidity was also mentioned by Madden and others.
Well.....if he ended up as a talking head, the level of diologue would be elevated. Most talking heads don't have as nearly the vocabulary and eloquence that Tomlin possesses.
I don’t understand all the Tomlin hate. Maybe it ran its course - but I’m jealous of a team that has had 3 coaches in 55 years. Pittsburgh is a destination for players because of the stable and winning culture. Be careful with it.
Far from a Steeler fan and after 19 years probably time to move on from Tomlin. On the other hand, the NFL is a quarterback driven league and the Steelers never found a replacement for Big Ben. Part of that is that the never drafted any higher than in the middle of the pack since Tomlin never had a losing season.
Yea sure. Picking on a protected class smh. lolWhy the snark? If you had looked up three or four posts above the one you responded to you’d have read that I thought Johnny H would be a good fit for the Steelers HC. And this was when I thought he was 66, 67. All I said was that he was 64 years old this year, nothing more or less. <brushes off shoulder>
First interview coming up for the Steelers. Was unsure to put this in the coaching carousel thread or this one. Seems like most Steeler folks would be checking in here first. The Rooney’s ordered up Primanti’s sandwiches and a Pittsburgh salads for the interview.
Who am I picking on? I already said that Harbaugh to Pittsburgh would be a good fit.Yea sure. Picking on a protected class smh. lol
@s1uggo72Johnny H would be a good fit for the Steelers. The Baltimore/Pittsburgh games are already epic, and now Johnny’s coaching the other team? That’s Gold, Jerry, Gold.
My personal thought, no inside knowledge, was that ownership sat him down and said "we aren't hiring one and done free agents anymore, we are going to work towards accumulating draft picks, rebuilding our cap and roster, and it will be a free rocky seasons and if you want to be here you can, but you're string of non losing seasons will likely be over"
Didn't have to fire him, just create a situation where his ego said it was time to move along.
Rooney was furiously polishing away in his news conference, but nothing shiny happened.
Ok - who do we like?
