Will this be MV first real test of the season? MV has outscored there first 3 opponents 124-34. FC coming off two loses to 2 top tier 4a teams.

With a win on Friday would give Coach Favero his 100th win as MV head coach...he is the winningest football coach in MV history...holding currently at 99 school wins and Coach Don Bateman is 2nd at 89 school wins.

If Magna Vista can beat this physical FC team then I think they’ll be able to win the district. Magna Vista will at least be in the state semifinals this year.

So, you think MV will win the region over LB? I’m not disagreeing, just inquiring. As of today, it does seem as if those two will probably end up being the class of the region, with only Northside possibly being capable of knocking off the Warriors or Cavaliers. I think Botetourt is currently being overrated.

Rice sustained an ankle injury in the 1st game and hasn't played since as far as I know. I heard last night Eller may have a knee issue. (Meniscus- I don't know if this is accurate) IF he does have a knee injury that would be a big blow.

Yes, I thought I heard on the news that Eller is out for the season.

I agree. LB has serious trouble with teams with speed. Also I know LB has a power 5 college line but MV has a real good group of linemen who will give them a run for their money.

I believe LB was the best 3A team by a good margin coming into the year. Losing their two best offensive and defensive players (maybe the two best players in all of 3A) changes that.

LB would have had to win the state championship convincingly for me to believe that they are the best 3A team by a good margin. For me, the Cavs are in the “Still Haven’t Proven It” category. That said, their season isn’t over yet, and maybe they’ll overcome adversity to be a serious factor in the playoffs. And of course, I absolutely hate seeing kids get injured, especially seniors, no matter who they play for.

I thought Lafeyette, Hopewell and LB were all in that category. On the other side, I thought Magna Vista would be mediocre. I saw Magna Vista live and I think they will challenge GW for the district. They are legit. Of course challenging GW doesn’t equate to a state championship, but I think they have the talent to play in the state championship.
