<p align="left">..If one and done had been the norm 15 years ago where would we be. (Assuming Jonathon Bender, Travis Outlaw and Monte Ellis all played as freshmen with us).</p>

Jonathan Bender would have been the difference in making the NCAA tournment his freshman year. I saw him play in person and even TV doesn't do him justice. Travis Outlaw would have had a tough time breaking the starting line-up his freshman year. He could jump and was athletic but I still think if he would have had to come to college for a year he wouldn't have been drafted as high. Monta Ellis teamed with J Gordon would have been an amazing backcourt. Either could have played point or shooting guard. Monta would have been a first round pick.

This can be argued two ways.

1. Stansbury has had unbelievable talent commited to State, but has had unfortunate losses to the NBA and players who didn't pan out.

or

2. Stans is in the middle of an ocean of talent, and has brought some but not enough to state. The players that he has had have been underdeveloped.

P.S.- Please do not turn this into an Anti/Pro stans thread. I won't respond. I hope noone else does either. That has been done to death.

No doubt, Mississippi has had it's players, but not an ocean. Big cities, like New York, Atlanta, L.A., Chicago are the oceans. Mississippi has some great players that can make a difference, but it is sporadic. Most of Stansbury's teams best players have come from out of state (Zimmerman, Austin, Roberts, Gordon, Bost, Varnado, Frazier, Power). Most of the time these players haven not been game changing players, but very athletic, solid players. The NBA has snatched up the few game changers from the state. Stansbury has kept the best players from MS, but not the few elite NBA players. The rule change has the potential to help us out. The class of 2011 will tell the story. If we can get 2 or 3 of the class of 2011, we will win big. <div>
</div><div>Billy Donovan is a great example of what catching elite talent can do for your program. It only takes a couple, but we aren't going to steal elite talent out of state. Case in point - Scott Hopson. Our biggest sell is playing close to home for the big time recruits.</div>
