So we have 19 commits if I count right. Fitz and Jackson may actually be 2 more commits that just aren't public yet. On the other hand, QA is visiting Rutgers and who know if he'll stick around. Say he sticks and Fitz and Jackson join. That's 21. Maybe we could count Tanner Lee and he'd make 22. That still seems like a lower number than everyone thought we were going to take. Any surprises? Any local Nebraska kids (like Engelhaupt) going to get a last minute offer? I haven't heard of any official visits for this last weekend. Coaches seem to be looking at 2017 prospects instead.

Anyone else I am missing for 2016? Jackson didn't visit. Newman seems like a pipe dream.

Oh yeah. Simmons. He would be a big get. Maybe the best prospect in the class. Can't believe I forgot him.

My opinion is if we get Lama Jackson, D FitzPatrick and Simmons and thats it, we got a good class comming in. Like you i have NO IDEA if theres anyone else where looking at and hoping to get, im hoping we give that Juco CB Davis a committable offer, if we have the open slots. In my opinion we can't have enough CBs or DBs, if they struggle next year at all like this year, it would be nice to have more bodies to try out till we find as close to a lock down sec as we can get....last time we had 2 lock down DBs it was Prince and Dennard, those 2 where going to lock down any set of WRs they threw on the field.

I'm assuming you are talking about Alaric Jackson? How confident are the Nebraska faithful after he cancelled his OV? I'm not as confident as I was before because it seems to me if he wanted to be a Hawkeye, he would have committed already. God forbid he choose the Cyclones. Iowa needs OTs pretty bad.

If not talking about Alaric, my bad.

I thought there was a DT from Omaha Central we have on the backburner. Supposedly his coach says he's better than Neal.

But I'm not sure if he's a SR this year or a JR.

I think that's Elijah Wilson. Going to SDSU to be a Jackrabbit.

Hopefully the Fitzpatrick family will be able to see through Petrino's snake oil salesman pitch. That guy is as slimy as college football gets.
I read quotes from his dad yesterday and it sounds like he bought every word.

Would love to finish the class with two local kids getting scholarships. Elijah Wilson from Omaha Central and David Englehaupt from Norfolk Catholic are deserving IMO.

They have both been committed to other schools since last summer. It would be pretty sleazy of them to decommit the week of signing day.

love Riles and as I have said numerous times the true measure of a recruiting class comes a couple of years past NSD ... but by ranking alone this class has a good chance of being ranked lower overall than the average Pelini class

Wyoming or Nebraska is a pretty easy choice. Doesn't matter how long a recruit has been "committed". Same goes for South Dakota State.

I know but unless they told their respective coaches that they would decommit for a Nebraska offer, it would be a bit unethical of them to decommit so close to signing day. We would not be happy if one of our top long-time commits got an offer from Alabama this week and signed with them on signing day. And I don't see Riley as the type of guy that would swoop in and offer a committed recruit on the day before signing day.

How is that not ethical? kid has a right to go where they want and if Alabama wanted a player late you can be darn sure they would do it

I am more concerned that we are now talking about stealing recruits from Wyoming
