Final analysis on UT/LSU; something others are overlooking?

Despite all of the hooplah over the end of the game fiasco, and despite UT's defense unable to stop LSU on SEVERAL 3rd and 4th down and longs, there is one bad call that I said would bite them in the ***:

Up 4 points, in field goal range, knowing your defense is going back onto the field, why go for it. I realize Dooley is thinking here that going for it and making it all but seals the game, but it's too much of a risk. I realize they had a freshman kicker. He had missed one fg on the day, it wasn't like he'd missed 5 like UAB's kicker the week before. At least try to extend your lead. You always take points when you can get them. Make that FG and that crap at the end of the game isn't as relevant. If you miss it you've given LSU an extra 5 yards or so. Big deal.

That's the whole damn point. Just like you highlighted, it isn't AS relevant in that it doesn't end the game and give UT a loss.

That crap at the end of the game would still have been relevant, especially if it sent the game to OT.

He said that the crap at the end would not be AS relevant if UT had kicked and made the FG. That is true because the most LSU could have done would be to send the game to OT, not win it on the crazy cluster17 ending.

There is no way he even comes close on that 2nd FG with the pressure, plus you have to worry about the kick being blocked and Lsu getting an easy return for a TD. You add the fact that Lsu's passing offense had been horrible, Dooley made the right call to go for it, but made the wrong play call. You don't run at Lsu's strength on a long handoff like Tenn did.

les miles has lost another of his 9 lives ... he's down to about 4 left .... when those are gone, we are going to have to give mullen a raise

on their wish list right now so I'm not very worried there...Georgia would worry me more if they made a move because I could see them doing it just to 17 with Meyer and Fla...I think as long as Richt gets to 6 wins he would be safe for 1 more year as long as he makes a few mandated changes

I suppose it's possible with UT, Vandy, UK, Idaho St. and Ga. Tech left as the most winnable games, but I'd be shocked. They are in a freefall.

They've got 3 easy wins, 2 tossups and 2 losses left on their schedule. The one thing they do have going for them is the Tennessee and GA Tech games are both in Athens.

now with Lee at QB, they will be a little better on offense. Can Miles upset Fla, Bama, Auburn, or Arkansas and save his job? 9 wins and he keeps it.

And Bruiser, Mississippi aint beating LSU. Their DL is going to gang-rape that group ya'll call an OL.
