Despite all of the hooplah over the end of the game fiasco, and despite UT's defense unable to stop LSU on SEVERAL 3rd and 4th down and longs, there is one bad call that I said would bite them in the ***:
Up 4 points, in field goal range, knowing your defense is going back onto the field, why go for it. I realize Dooley is thinking here that going for it and making it all but seals the game, but it's too much of a risk. I realize they had a freshman kicker. He had missed one fg on the day, it wasn't like he'd missed 5 like UAB's kicker the week before. At least try to extend your lead. You always take points when you can get them. Make that FG and that crap at the end of the game isn't as relevant. If you miss it you've given LSU an extra 5 yards or so. Big deal.
