This one is big, and it's one that we can win.

I think the game will go a lot like the Baylor-Auburn game, another game where one of the Big 12 favorites is going against one of the bottom teams in the SEC. I think Auburn is greatly improved, and I think State is greatly improved. Auburn had a 17-10 halftime lead on Baylor and broke it open in the third quarter. I think we see something similar tonight. Maybe 14-10 at halftime, and then a couple of scores in the third quarter.

Mississippi State 31, Arizona State 17.

It’s a must win if we want to go bowling. I still think we’re losing. It will be a lot harder for ASU than last year.

I hope people haven't set themselves up for disappointment.

ASU will get benefit from the zebras. We are night and day better on Def, but I can't wait to watch the game replay and see the holding etc that the devils get away with.

I'll be there. Hope we overcome the advantages that a defending playoff/conference championship team will be blessed with, and pull this off

I’d wager everyone here will watch us struggle mightily to get any sort of offensive rhythm against a top 10 team. We will either barely win by some fluke play or lose huge. That coupled with watching OM hang 63 on KY is historically how these Saturdays go.

Ultimately I think this game will be decided by one thing: Can our defense get off the field on third downs? We couldn't last year and we weren't great at it last week either.

Ah good ole blame the refs.

The refs aren't out to get us and won't be the reason we lose, if we lose.

Even bigger question for me. Can our OL block their defensive line & LBs?

We only averaged 4.5 yards per carry vs Southern freaking Miss. Thats not good.
4.5 YPC is about what you want. I'll sign up for 4 right now for tonight.

That average would be much higher if our tackles knew how to line up correctly.

I hate people who have this idea that human refs dont have an agenda. I seen it at a hs game yesterday where they called 30 penalties on my team

4.5 vs most of our schedule is not bad. 4.5 vs Southern Miss is. Agree I would take 4.0 vs Arizona St. it’s better than what I’m afraid we may get.

In what world is 4.5 bad? NAU averaged 3 yds and had two WRs with over 70 yds REC. dare I say we are better than an FCS team

Of all the SEC schools that played a G5 team last weekend, 4.5 yds/att was the worst performance. Most were in the 5.3-5.8 range.

I feel like we’ll be saying this a lot this season, but while it may not be a bad number, it’s not good enough. Not against an inferior opponent

We are State fans. We are built for disappointment.
