that's a tough one. Going from memory, I think the Senior Worlds are in September, while the U23 Worlds are in late October.

I saw something in the past week (series of tweets or an article; can't remember which) about how a lot of college coaches don't like their wrestlers to opt for U23 Worlds because it's too close to the college wrestling season.

I see how that could be a concern, but CStar has gotten better since day one at PSU, so I doubt that training for U23 Worlds would impact his college season.

As with virtually everything involving PSU wrestling, in Cael we trust. I'll leave it to him/his staff to figure out the best path for CStar.
CS is going U23.......

Is Sarah Hildebrandt still training and competing for the NLWC. She was cornered and wrestled for NYAC last night!
I hope she is still in Happy Valley, as she looked awesome.

I don’t believe SH ever formally trained with NLWC. Helen M did for a bit.

Looks as though he is:

There was a nice interview, forget where I saw it, shortly after Cenzo no showed and CS said he as going for gold. I suspect he will be gaming with the big boys next summer, although he may have another year to go U23.

I think I finally found the interview that you referenced:

This kid fears nothing. He literally expects to beat anyone he steps on the mat with. Recall that his only loss at Trials was 5-5 criteria to Marsteller in first round, and Marsteller ended up in Final X. Could’ve very easily been Carter against Burroughs, and Carter doesn’t seem to care who he faces. He expects to win. I think his confidence in himself, almost arrogance, exceeds any Lion I can recall. For example, did DT expect to beat Dake in college? Did Bo expect to beat J’Den for senior spot? I think they believed in themselves, but Carter EXPECTED to beat Mekhi, and I think he would’ve expected himself to beat Burroughs. Pretty amazing!

No matter how one articulates it, Carter has joined the long list of PSU greats who......you just never expect to lose. Nolf, Zain and Easy Ed were quiet. Bo was Bodacious. DT likes to play to the crowd too. Nick Lee/ RBY, all business.

I think everyone forgets about Brooks. He is on pace to be a 4 timer. With only 2 loss. One being to an Olympic bronze medalist.

Who’s this “Everyone”? I’ll forgive WV Lion. It was an forgivable oversight due to our embarrassment of riches.
