Much credit to Murphy. That’s a hard nosed bunch of mountain boys! But the Vikings get the shut out and a 10th state title. Elon gets an absolute steal.

A wise young man said to me after this new alignment was announced, the 2a state championship will be henceforth named the Tarboro Invitational. And he added that you could say the same for the 3A Shelby invitational if no one rises above their current level in the west.
Congrats to Tarboro, great team and great defense, deserved winners. Murphy had a few chances offensively but like I said from the jump you've got to have something at QB to truly give Tarboro a run and this Murphy team unfortunately did not have that, its been a weak link for 3 years and glad to see a different QB taking over next year. Great effort from our kids tonight and good play overall from the Murphy defense against a fast and athletic Tarboro O, gave Tarboro a much tougher game this evening than the blowout city most had called for.

Simmons had Tarboro +11. Anyone that believed this was going to be a cake walk was a fool.
We’ll be glad to not see that QB/WR tandem in Kinston next season.

The only receipt I keep is from a personal attack from another Tarboro fan several years ago. Every day I enjoy life and get the most joy out of it, I take great satisfaction knowing there is a nameless, faceless jerk that is hating every moment of it.We like to keep receipts
Defense did a fantastic job today. Our top linebacker didn't play due to injury. We lost our star free safety to a ankle injury in the game, and we had several other guys get injured also. But no excuses were made and it was a next man up mentality.
I thought he played a good game and didn’t think he was that bad. He was not the reason Murphy didn’t win.

Great season Vikings! Glad we could finish the job! Murphy fans, great season, your boys played hard, and never quit. You guys had a tremendous game plan first half, keep the ball away from us. At one point I believe you held it for close to 10 minutes. Your coach said in the post game when you have to become one dimensional Tarboro is tough or something along those lines. Our D was able to do that in the second half. Your coach was very complimentary of our defense and said it was the fastest you guys had seen all year.
It’s extremely hard at the small levels to find passing quarterbacks at all. If you do, you’ve got lightning in a bottle. It’s hard even for the larger schools to develop passers year after year. I find in a bit comical when people criticize Tarboro’s offense. We have found a scheme and player development that allows us to be a title contender virtually every year. It’s hard to argue with success, but by all means. Have a take.
No offense but you haven't watched what we have for 3 years, anyone associated with Murphy that is honest will tell you the QB position was the weak link on this squad. Look I can deal with physical limitations, that's not something that can be helped but the kid plays scared to death and always has, zero poise. And no he didn't have a good game, he was an issue in the 2nd half.
