A couple seasons ago I got lambasted on the board for posting JF was the worst game day coach in FBS....how about now?
Hasn’t had a winning season has he?Ricky rahne has done pretty well actually.
I believe the Sunday scrimmages are for the players who didn't play on Saturday.Franklin has mentioned Sunday scrimmages a couple times. My only guess about Singleton is that our tackling (and specifically our LB play) is so bad that it’s possible Singleton breaks a lot of long runs during practices and scrimmages. Maybe our coaches see that and expect it in games.
Matt Schuyler. For some reason, Franklin had him twisted around his finger. Who knows? Maybe Franklin had a set of pictures before the people at Hilton did.The podcast with Audrey Snyder hinted that it wasn’t all Sandy’s doing on the 10 year deal; hinted that is was the wish of the BOT Chair at the time and Sandy just made it happen. Can’t recall who that was or more importantly, why they felt the need to extend Franklin right after his loss to Illinois. USC may ave been kicking the tires, but that ended once 8 OT’s went south.
Once again, Franklin throws the players under the bus. Blames them for doing uncharacteristic things. Like he has coached them and they failed to carry out their assignments. I'm a bit tired of his lack of transparency.
Meanwhile Belichek buyout is under $30 million. Thanks Sandy. I hope JF sent you to Tahiti after he signed the contract
Why would Franklin and his agent renegotiate a buyout and lose money? He holds all the cards here. What are the chances the AD can negotiate a new buyout price and structure and persuade Franklin to resign at the end of the season?
Even Franklin must realize at this point that his position at Penn State is untenable.
An understatementHe did it early on here. "The plays work better with better players." He's a f'ing idiot.
He should have been fired the second he stepped off the plane. He had it all this year, and HE didn't execute.
He does and I hope this doesn’t happen but I could see that any adverse reaction to his family would make him seriously consider stepping aside. He’s a good man from everything you see and rightfully will not take any blowback that his family receives. Why would Franklin and his agent renegotiate a buyout and lose money? Yeah. I see where you are coming from. If anyone does anything stupid towards him or his family they are low life with serious mental issues and should be lawfully punished to the fullest extent of the law.He does and I hope this doesn’t happen but I could see that any adverse reaction to his family would make him seriously consider stepping aside. Penn St is such a fishbowl and it has to be really difficult on family members of the coach and staff.
There are things that come with the territory but saying things to him when he’s with family is off limits.
I saw Neuheisel at the Tavern this week.Rick Neuheisel. His son can be the offensive coordinator.

It starts with love and ends with love.Im sure the team all got their hugs and coloring books for the trip home.
He's one of the worst with time management (pretty sure he took lessons from Tomlin)A couple seasons ago I got lambasted on the board for posting JF was the worst game day coach in FBS....how about now?
So are you saying, we need to make sure the next Head Coach isn’t a liberal?Im sure the team all got their hugs and coloring books for the trip home.
Was his son with him?I saw Neuheisel at the Tavern this week.
to be fair, the first three games weren't all that spectacular. You could tell we had problems offensively and defensively. We won, in part, because we wore down three far inferior teams.Just horrible 2 weeks
Might as well redshirt all the starters? Get a leg up for next year.![]()
I don't think the Knowles defense works with our personnel. We don't have the Dtackles like Ohio state. You can't win if you're giving up 5 yard up the middle on first downI’ve defended James, but I now believe he must be replaced. The lack of effort is indefensible. That “Jim Knowles” defense disappeared. Allar played his *** off. The rest of the offense? Meh. There is no fight in James. He shows no fire at all.
well the players are making enough $$ now, they could pay their own bailHe would sink the grad rates and the players would start ending up in jail
Kraft isn't making this decision with a $50 mil buyout on the line.Baloney. The schoool will hemmorage $ by leaving him in place. He should have been flown home separately from the team.
I think Singleton is completely checked out - so move him down the depth chart.
And get Grunk ready. For IHC, Terry Smith.
Maybe the players can pool their NIL dollars and buy out Franklinwell the players are making enough $$ now, they could pay their own bail
They can just leaveMaybe the players can pool their NIL dollars and buy out Franklin
That might hold up early in the season, but after three, four games of it not carrying over to Saturdays, and meanwhile the other guy is tearing it up, you have to yield to empirical evidence.Franklin has mentioned Sunday scrimmages a couple times. My only guess about Singleton is that our tackling (and specifically our LB play) is so bad that it’s possible Singleton breaks a lot of long runs during practices and scrimmages. It starts with love and ends with love…….and a loss.It starts with love and ends with love.
I confess I feel entitled to beat 0-4 teams that average 14 points a game when my team has National Championship aspirations and the highest paid coaching staff in college football. The team's performance has absolutely nothing to do with the fan base. Most of the fan bases of top schools are no different and their teams aren't consistently underperforming their talent this bad because of their fan base's entitled attitudes. So comments about the fan base are completely off target and serve no purpose.
SOME of us could tell there were problems.to be fair, the first three games weren't all that spectacular. You could tell we had problems offensively and defensively. We won, in part, because we wore down three far inferior teams.
"Now, this, class, is a superb example of creative thinking!"" Hey Terry, Pat here, how does Pegula Stadium sound to you? I was thinking $60 million for the naming rights guaranteed for the next 5 years, with right of first refusal after the original 5 year period. We could really use your help getting out from under a bad contract extended by our former visionary AD."
Every D1 player dreams of a NFL career....will the NFL speak nice and soft when you screw up and get penalties at critical time? Will you stay in the game if you lose down after down to the man across from you? NIL simply means the players are semi-pro....only thing the current players care about is playing time and winning, reason tOSU, Georgia, and a few others get the best players to develop them for the NFL. We don't have the speed on the OL to run counters and sweeps....defense flows faster. Why we never switch to zone blocking, hat on hat, and run straight at them with KA amazes me....Best teams are able to switch their attack to confuse the defense. How does that work in the NIL era?
You can have strong DLs and OLs while not playing smashmouth football
The issue is the scheme--how much of that is on AK vs CJF is the real question--thought given the past OCs it sure feels like it's Franklin
For the record, I'd love to run Georgia's offense for example
In my opinion.....the fact we are conversing without name calling is good. There simply is no absolute perfect game plan...the plan that wins today was best for that opponent... but may fail the following week. That is why putting your players in their best position to win is essential. In reality, every play is a mini game...you win enough plays you win the game.I am of the opinion that a team's collective emotional efficacy is impacted by a program's fan base. We disagree; no worries.

To be clear, I agree with you regarding most of this. Kaytron should get 20-25 carries a game. couldn't agree more and about the constant.Every D1 player dreams of a NFL career....will the NFL speak nice and soft when you screw up and get penalties at critical time? As for AK vs CJF....we have had successful OCs join the staff and the song remains the same....and ..the one constant is.......
