First look at new uni. It's for the Egg Bowl

Ok... I've looked at he pic and watched the video a few times.
Things I don't like:
The gold... I know why it's there.. I love honoring the egg. Maybe it's a bit much.. I don't know.
Things I like:
The hail state on the chest
Mississippi down the leg
The sleekness of his new series of tech fit (I hope our regular unis have this)
I even dig the shoes.
Overall though... Dissapoined we didn't have a full uni overhaul. This just isn't enough change from our last egg bowl home uni.

I don't like the "Hail State" on the front. If Ole Miss wore jerseys that said "Hoddy Toddy" on the front of them, people on this board would rip them 24/7.

I think someone owes Adidas an apology at least for the video made for us was every bit as quality as the Tennessee one actually completely identical. To add I think the shoes are an awesome touch

i dont yet know about the mississippi state down the leg yet...ill have to see more pics with somebody not jumping around like a fool to better form an opinion. the positive is that we have finally lost the helmet and shoulder stripe. i would consider these unis a small step froward, but we still have a long way to go. also, considering the season is only a few days away, why get our hopes up with specialty unis to only have to wear our worse bookmark unis for a nationally televised game right around the corner

The writing on the leg is the one part I don't like. Get rid of all the gold and leg text, and they would make some good looking regular season uni's
First thoughts. Helmet, shoes/socks are fine by themselves. Why doesn't the pants color match the shirt? Waaaaay to cluttered for me, i.e. too many logos, 4 from adidas, 2 M States, an adidas, an SEC, a Hail State, and thats not counting the Mississippi State on the pants legs, gloves and the helmet.
You mean the Hail State on the uniform sucks? Or saying "Hail State" sucks?
Because the latter would make me want to baby powder the back of my hand and slap you across the face with it.
I agree about the Hail State and I appreciate you explaining exactly what is totally wrong about it. I don't like the gold or the gloves, but I'm fine with the lettering on the pants. Generally, though, I'd rather just wear our regular uniforms for the Egg Bowl. When the marketeers get ahold of a tradition, they tend to limit it forever to its glorious past. To me, the greatness of the Egg Bowl is the next game coming up. If we ever stop playing the Egg Bowl, pick that time to carve a statue of its history. Don't use the players to make it a characteriture of its former self. If I want entertainment from the past, I'll watch TCM or go to a burlesque show.
But if "Hail State" is our brand then we have seriously screwed up because what we ARE is THE Mississippi State Bulldogs. A catch phrase like "The Real Thing" has been very powerful for CocaCola, but I don't think "Hail State" (which is just a catch phrase, not a brand) has any chance of duplicating or even sniffing that magic from the New York of the South. It actually is a lot like "Hotty Toddy" or however it's spelled. So are we starting a phrase war with our rival?
If y'all truly cant see and understand what we're doing with "Hail State", then you can't see ten feet in front of your own face. I really do understand why some say we are the worst fan base in the league.
I simply don't understand a special uniform for OM. It is actually a tribute to them that we do it. So far we've had two special uniforms, one for Om and the other one for A&M. We got our asses kicked in both games. It ends up with egg on your face when it backfires, and it usually does.
Does the university pay anything for these alternate uniforms? Or is it just part of being an Adidas client?
