I'm not sure about any recent attempts but years ago our admin screwed up a plan by CSpire to push in stadium cellular to another level. Instead of taking that free to the university offering, my understanding is that the AD wanted a cut of profits, or some kind of payment for allowing CSpire to invest heavily in wireless capacity...
No university in America is going to invite any wireless carrier to install equipment in their stadium for free. There is always a cost to be paid from the provider to the landlord.

Always.

Seems like if your customer base is "suffering" and a carrier offers to pump millions of investment into the university's stadium to improve their game day experience, all the while watching attendance suffer and hearing people steadily complain about gameday cell service, you might just let them.

Well the next university to do that will be the first. This is not a situation unique to Mississippi State, this is the same everywhere. They are all about the revenue.

I get it. They did not get any revenue and fans did not get better service on CSpire. I guess ATT played that game is why it improved a few years back but I'm out of my depth here.
