I have N Lincoln coming out of the west. Not sure how anyone would think they would lose in the first round unless you’re just looking at records and don’t know the background lolCome on! Trey!
North Lincoln just might win 5a.![]()
SWE by 25.I don’t know that I see many upsets 1st round but 2nd round in 4A I have 9-SWR will beat 8- E Duplin, 11- Ledford will beat 6- SW Edgecombe, 10- Uwharrie will beat 7- N Johnston and 11- Foard will beat 6- Burns.
Why does the east even play sports?Uwharrie and Ledford, which generally are in the west, will bring a little more of a disciplined approach than SWE and N Johnston see far east. Both should be good games.
We suck lol. Lost 43-49 after leading 31-18 at the half. I still think we were better, but the score is the score. We depend on our leading scorer way too much.SWE by 25.

You did it again lol. Like I said, there's really no need for us to even play sports over here. We don't know how to dribble with both hands. We don't know what a forward pass is. We don't know who to throw out first on a routine double play. We most likely don't know how to block two straight XX in tic tac toe. My goodness. What are we doing over here? We lack fundamentals. Apparently, we all suck in the east lol. It's not just you that points that out.One thing that IMO stands out with teams in that area is they lack fundamentals at times and struggle against teams that are a little more disciplined
I don’t take his comment that way or at least I don’t think that is how he’s meaning it but then again I’m from the West so maybe that makes it sound differentYou did it again lol. Sure, in most sports, the top western teams are winning more vs the top eastern teams, but we get tired of being told that our teams are jv teams while the west is the SEC. If a team is better, that's one thing. But to say that "teams in our area" are undisciplined and lacking fundamentals is insulting. Like we're just grabbing players from classrooms that have never seen a ball, just to fill out rosters. The "lacking fundamentals" comment concerning SWE's women's basketball was considerably off base, considering that the team has only had one coach in its entire existence, who has lead the program to 8 state championship appearances, 4 state championship titles, and has the most wins in NC history overall, not just on the women's side. There is no way fundamentals was the issue. But that's the consensus thought that the west has of eastern teams. Uwharrie and Ledford, the same programs that were the subject in earlier posts on this thread, were just defeated by two deep eastern teams on the men's side. Did the same overall better discipline and fundamentals not apply to them? In fact, 3 of the 4 final teams in the 4A eastern bracket are from the same eastern conference. Idk man. It just annoying to hear year after year, sport after sport, that east teams simply can't hang with west teams. Like I said, the majority of y'all top teams are better than ours, but it's not like we're a little league region.I don’t take his comment that way or at least I don’t think that is how he’s meaning it but then again I’m from the West so maybe that makes it sound different.
You hear some of the same comments when more disciplined, less athletic Euro teams play more American oriented/ NBA player teams that rely heavily on athleticism for play creation. I don’t think the idea is that either sucks. (Although, I hate NBA-style basketball but that’s another topic) Sometimes the discipline shines brighter than the best athlete(s) on the court but not always.
