Tropical Storm Arlene is now in the Gulf moving south. It isn't expected to do much and poses no threats to the US except for maybe a few passing showers for the Keys. Landfall looks to be far western Cuba on Saturday night.

The summer pattern wind currents haven't fully kicked in yet and there's a high pressure over MO bringing northerly winds into the Gulf.
Going to be a challenging year for Storms to make it to the Gulf because we will have a lot of upper-level sheer. There is a bunch of hot water for any system that doesn't get torn up from the sheer patterns this summer.
