I thought the fans did well. Other than sections A and W, which is a visitors section, most other sections were full enough. The students obviously didn't receive Coach Mullen's email Friday because their showing was beyond pathetic. The end zone was barely half full, still plenty of empty rows on the bottom level, and hardly a soul on the upper deck. And by halftime, only a third of that weak student crowd remained.

I understand it was a weak opponent, and it was an "early" game at the dreadful crack of dawn, 11 am, but sheesh. The students got their butts kissed for the way they sold out the student tix in record time. Good to see that over half of them decided it wasn't important enough to actually attend a game that was less than a marquee matchup.

Traffic from Jackson straight to our parking lot on campus was quite uneventful. No usual convoys down Hwy 25. Zero wait getting on campus to the parking lot. Junction was more than half empty 2 hrs before kickoff.

The 50k number looked legit. But I swear half of them arrived right at kickoff or the 1st Q.

******** I can't blame anyone for not going. You buy 17n tickets, you should go. MSU fans can't have it both ways. You either show up and become a big boy program, or you shut the 17 up about winning, retaining coaches, landing big recruits. I don't care if you play Tiddlywink Tech, a half full student section in an already small stadium doesn't get it done. The stadium was dead because MSU fans allowed it to be.

The SEC has a TV agreement now and MSU fans have to get over the start times. We have NO say in what time the games are so you show up and make the best of it. The SEC office doesn't give a **** about the fact that fans don't have time to tailgate in the Grove, the Junction, or anywhere else.

****, we've had 3 home games so far and one was an inconvenience at 11am. It could be damn worse. We could be in the Big 10 playing EVERY home game at 11am, with every game commentated by Pam Ward.

I'm a student and honestly we need to cut down the size of our student section. The upper deck portion of the student section should be free to the public or we could possibly make the end zone visitor seating. Compared to other schools, we have a very large percentage of student seats for the size of our enrollment.

She thinks cause she *#%$# everyone on the team she is a super fan. She got on the students for not showing up and then bashed everyone who left early. As I told her when I got to tailgate with 10 mins remaining, It's not because of the team it's douchbag bitches like you. ***** wouldn't shut up and was yelling at the top of her lungs in the 4th quarter every play and she has the Football IQ of a wet fart. Once again you annoyed everyone inthe section and most left to get away from you. When you are the only one yelling in 6 sections, shut the 17 up.

Why would we cut it down? We sold out of student tickets in a day and a half. If you don't go in 2 hours early, it is impossible to get a seat in the grandstands. The bleachers are full 30 minutes after that. The only talk I have heard about changing the number of student tickets, is raising it (I think I was told 13,000 when we expand). The student section has been packed out for every game but this one, and I would bet it is packed out for the rest of the season. Yes our percentage is high in regards to our total seating, not total enrollment, and thats because our stadium is small. I think the last 2 seasons our students have done more than what was expected considering the past seasons we have had to put up with. And things are getting better. Visitors in the end zone? and give away the upper deck seats? Really? <div>
</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I looked up enrollment vs. student tickets, and i was wrong. Our percentage is a little higher. Here are our neighboring schools.</div><div>Ole Miss: 42.3% (13,000 undergrad, 5,500 Student Tickets)</div><div>Alabama: 52.4% (21,000 undergrad, 11,000 Student Tickets)</div><div>Ms State: 56.4% (19,500 undergrad, 11,000 Student Tickets)</div>

Look BigDumbass, I didn't say I was a better fan than anyone else and I sure am not getting into a pissing contest without about cheering the team on. I just think it is PATHETIC that we supposedly sold 11k+ student tickets and on a beautiful Saturday, not a cloud in the sky and 75 degrees, 2 thousand of them decided to show up.

But anyway, that's the spirit. Bash a fan for cheering. It's the cool Sixpack way.

Cheering is fine when everyone else is but when you are the only one on the east side cheering and saying crap that doesn't go with the game shut up.

As for the students, I made every game during my 5 years there and did leave early some, so what. It's called a life and Croom made friends, family, and tailgating more important than the game. We are just now recovering from that. This game was at a bad time during the season and day. You see the effects. Call Strick and ***** at him for the scheduling. That was the primary culprit in all this. I will say if you think "I'll be at the game no matter when it is!" Then you really need to get more hobbies and a life. MSU sports should not equal life.

would be a disaster waiting to happen, but potentially entertaining because there would be all kinds of fights trying to get seats on a preseumed first come first served basis espeically when we play a big game.

That would be bad because if you have a free section, why buy season tickets and join the BC?

Failure post of the day. Put visitors in the end zone on the north side? And take away the fukkking students from that end zone? Nonsense. Then we would have visitors in both end zones and more seats for the visiting team in an already small SEC stadium. Novel idea. Free to the public? Are we !+!*#@% Southern Miss? We already sell out our stadium every game. Why should we give out free tickets to the public. You're a geek. Maybe you should post again after you know what you are talking about
