Guys, can we at least start acting like and expecting to be a big boy program. 51,177, really?? I am expecting 54,000 to 55,000 to be there and will be absolutely shocked and embarrassed if the attendance is anywhere near 51,177. This loser, dove hunting, and not going to the game because of TV attitude has got to stop. Please start expecting more of our fanbase, and to be honest they deserve higher expectations than what Flab has thrown out here. People are excited and its the first game of the season. Why isn't that in your calculations?

Being the season opener helps a lot. People are ready to get back into FB mode after being starved for almost 9 months.

Was that our smallest crowd of the year? I guess the game that competed with Alabama/LSU was probably smaller. Can't remember who we played but it was a small school, football-wise. As I recall, the stadium was almost empty in the second half.

You gotta love all the MSU fans that complain that we don't get any respect and lose recruits, and then those same people choose to go damn dove hunting above supporting their football program. Not only that, but there is a waiting list for season tickets that someone else, with possibly more commitment, could have purchased. Why not just buy single game tickets and allow people on the waiting list to buy season tickets if you are just going find any excuse not to go to the games. If we want to be a big boy program then we have to act like it.

There would be a very real chance (if I was going to this game), that I would be there for like 10 minutes. TV at the tailgate. Food at the tailgate. Beer at the tailgate. Crappy SWAC opponent. Baggo (MSU design of course) at the tailgate. Clean bathrooms in the building next to us at the tailgate.

To me, the opening weekend of Dove Hunting in Mississippi is more important than a game against a SWAC opponent.
I have memories from as long as I can remember from Dove Hunting.
It's dove hunting, drinking beer, and eating good BBQ with life-long friends. It's also for a good cause for a lost friend, and Bulldog. The Will Wamsley Memorial Dove Hunt...
